Al-Quran Al-Kareem – Tafsir (Exegesis) Lesson 343

On the 35th to 36th verses of Surah Yunus [10].

I seek shelter in Allah from the rejected Satan. In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Let us recite the glorification/tasbih of Al-Imam Al-Azam.

Hodja recites the tasbih.

Esteemed friends, the contents of this glorification or tasbih is filled to the brim with treasures and lightsome monotheism/tawhid nūr. Insha ‘Allah, if Allah generously graces us, in another lecture we will insha ‘Allah try to convey the meanings in this glorification or tasbih to you. Now, our lecture will continue. Surely, we encountered the word tawhid, and that is why we recited the tawhid tasbih here. After declaring this monotheism/tawhid, Janâb-i Haqq says the following.

Hodja recites a part of the 3rd verse of Surah Fatir [35].

How come you are being led to slander? How come you are deviated from the path?

Hodja recites a part of the 35th verse of Surah Yunus [10].

“Say, ‘Is there anyone among your associates who may guide to the truth/haqq, who can show the way?’”

Time Stamp: 5:04

Nobody guides/hidayat beside Allah. Humankind must know this, only Allah’s Book and Prophets are means of guidance/hidayat, as well as the real Islamic scholars/âlims, the truthful/sālihun, and people of knowledge/ahlul ilm who follow that path may become means of guidance/hidayat. However, they cannot guide/hidayat, they become a means of guidance/hidayat. It is Allah who personally guides to the truth/hidayat. Allah brought forth what is right/haqq and what is wrong/batil. The truth/haqq and wrongs/batil are defined in Al-Quran Al-Karim, which Allah brought forth through the Prophet. Whatsoever Allah calls haram is haram. Whatsoever is called halal is halal. Whatsoever is called right/haqq is right/haqq. Whatsoever is called wrong/batil is wrong/batil. That is why nobody can know what is right/haqq and what is wrong/haqq without the Book and the Prophet.

Even though he may know certain things due to his innate nature/fitrah, he has no chance of knowing it all. Just take a look at the connexion between concepts such as self and notself, soul/ruh and body/jism, thought and outer world, subject and object, what is known through what is known, what is known through he who knows, intellect/aql and what is rational/makul! Intellects or aqls are devices of understanding and accepting knowledge, logic, and the decree/hukm of the Real/al-Haqq. Now, please pay attention! Know your intellect/aql well. Know what intellect/aql is. Intellects or aqls are devices of understanding and accepting knowledge, logic, and the decree/hukm; they are devices for knowledge.

Take a look at the occurrence of a harmony between subject and object, and just have a look, who established these balances? Who gave them this harmony? There is a harmony out there and it is called self/nafs. How can a self/nafs reach outside and become something objective/afaqi?

How come it discovers and comprehends a reality in the outer world and encompasses it, then occurs reason/aql and knowledge/ilm? It is nothing but contradiction to say self and notself are the same thing or to claim notself means self at the same time. Please pay close attention. One cannot say self and notself are the same thing. Self and notself are different concepts. Claims like notself also means self, or to accept self as a part of notself and vice versa are also wrong. We can also see Kant, a late period German philosopher did touch upon this wrong.  Kant had also considered this wrong, and fundamentally philosophers have been divided to three in this regard. Some lead this matter to that nothing is known and say there is no such as thing as reality, thus they lead the matter to obscurity of everything, and they deviated. These are Sophists or Husbuiyye as their other name goes.

Time Stamp: 10:06

Some are insisting that these are non-existent, and they are called the al-inadiyyah. These is also the al inadiyyah who consider it a subjectivist and inner/anfus-i event, a speculation. These are the al-la adriyyah who believe in agnosticism. It is they who introduced sceptics in this movement since the English philosopher David Hume. They have been given the title of scepticism, reybiye. They doubt everything. They have abrogated and cancelled themselves as well. They have said, “It is an utter non-sense to deny the value of knowledge despite the discoveries made and progress achieved in science,” and what did they do by saying such things? They showed an endeavour. Both of them are philosophers who are in the movement of itibariyyah and ikaniyya. These have been explained in Mezaip and Metalip, you may receive correct information when you take a look. They couldn’t extricate themselves from contradiction, and it went all the way up to destroying the notself in the self and the matter of ana al-haqq. And now, they started to look for the source of reality and knowledge in foundations without knowledge by destroying the self outside of the self. The former view generally belongs to the al-ikaniyya while the second one is the view of the tadribiyah who are materialists. By considering the self as the person of reality/haqq, in short, the al-indiyyah fell into polytheism/shirk by mandating that there are as much deities as the number o people or selves. That lead to fell into ideological pantheism in the spiritual sense, meaning in both events it lead to worshipping the soul. You see, there is a danger here, thereby occurred an event of self-divinization. This is the result these philosophies lead to whether knowingly or not. Surely, other philosophers object to these. They also resulted in divinization of intellect/aql or leaving the people of intellect/aql without a god. In the ikaniyya ecole, philosophers fell into the obsession of considering it the agent of the truth’s decree, and the source of knowledge. That is, the philosophers in the ikaniyya ecole fell into the obsession of considering this the agent of the truth’s decree and the source of knowledge. Aql and maʿqūl.

They established it upon the view of uniting aql and maʿqūl as well as self and notself in intellect/aql. Pay attention to this! They established it upon the view of uniting aql and maʿqūl as well as self and notself in intellect/aql. They have fallen into a slander and obsession in such a degree that they presume that these are united in essence, therefore human intellect is absolutely and fully capable of comprehending the ekani kulliye, meaning comprehending the person/dhat of the truth/haqq. And what we should be wary of here is that it has been noted that intellect/aql falls into error, and also they fell into these errors.

Time Stamp: 15:30

As intellect/aql is not an inventor/mujit or an agent/fâil, and it is a device of knowledge given by the Real/al-Haqq, it is understood that it is just a tool or a device for understanding the addressing of the Real/al-Haqq. If you don’t get to know intellect/aql well, and if you don’t get to know self/nafs well, then you will divinize yourself/nafs, and replace revelation/wahy with intellect/aql. The duty of intellect/aql is to understand Allah Ta’ala, and it is a means for knowing the laws and commands of Allah. Now, let us pay attention once again. It is clear that intellect/aql is not an inventor/mujit or an agent/fâil, and that it is a device of knowledge given by the Real/al-Haqq, meaning Almighty Allah. Therefore, intellect/aql is a device of knowledge. This is very important. It is but a tool and a device to understand the addressing of the Real/al-Haqq. The duty of intellect/aql is to understand the command and addressing of Allah. Now, the duty of intellect/aql- is to understand and explore the divine revelation/wahy-i ilahi, which is Al-Quran Al-Karim. So, use your intellect/aql for the command of Allah Ta’ala. Janâb-i Haqq did not give you an intellect/aql so that you may use it to deny Allah. Janâb-i Haqq did not give it to you so that you may deny Allah’s laws and book, the Quran. Janâb-i Haqq gave it to people so that they may acknowledge and understand.

There have been people such as people of exercise and experience, who brought forth the idea that it is necessary to seek the source of knowledge in experiment. Allah presented ready and real information to people before they experience, and has opened the ways of exploration, experiment, and advancement. Tests are only for people to add further knowledge to the existing true knowledge, otherwise, if you claim there is no knowledge beside experiment, then do you have the chance of experimenting on the soul? Are you going to deny the soul? Do you have the chance of experimenting on the intellect/aql? Are you going to deny the intellect/aql? That is why there are aspects that experientialists should pay close attention to as well. Knowledge/ilm and certainty/yaqeen are present only at where it has been given by Janâb-i Haqq. Please pay attention. Knowledge/ilm and certainty/yaqeen are present only at where it has been given by Janâb-i Haq. It would not be possible to reach to reality/haqiqa solely by intellectual/aql-i endeavour. Before intellect/aql, a guide is necessary for intellect/aql as well, which is the commands and decrees/hukm, meaning divine revelation/wahy-i ilahi. Some of the empiricism/tedribiyye philosophers tried to reduce anfus to afaq, reduce soul/ruh into body/jism, reduce semblance to matter in response to Ekâni’s who reduce afaq to anfus. They were besotted with seeking spiritual matters in physical facts, seeking the source of ilm-ma’rifa/knowledge in principles without knowledge, and seeking the person/dhat of the Real/al-Haqq in matter. What did they do? They fell into the danger of divinizing and idolizing matter.

Time Stamp: 20:07

Pantheist physicians are of this kind, and there are also other philosophers and physicists who object to them. There is also a drift from the wrongs to the rights in the world from then on because Allah speaks the truth. Al-Quran Al-Karim speaks the truth. Prophets speak the truth. That is why Al-Quran Al-Karim and true sciences/haqq ilms do not contradict. This is also an utterly incoherent argument in regard to the fact that when something is known, that does not necessitate a change in its existence. We can see that there is no chance in something’s existence when it is known. For example, let’s say you calculated the eclipse of the moon one year in advance, do you think you knowing his has any affect on the eclipse of the moon? Does anything change thereby? No. That is why it is a reality that knowing something does not necessitate a change in its existence. Their common trait is creaturehood. There is a common trait in all creation/makhluqat, which is that they have been created, and that they are creatures/makhluq. Now, it is not possible for any being who has been created to guide anyone to the truth/haqq and reality/haqiqa. Therefore, what did Janâb-i Haqq do? Allah personally brought forth means of guidance/hidayat to what is right, true/haqq, and real/haqiqa. So, what did Janâb-i Haqq do with books and messengers? Janâb-i Haqq sent Messengers and sent down to them books.

Hodja recites a part of the 9th verse of Surah al-Buruj [85].

“Allah the Almighty is witness to all things.”

Hodja recites a part of the 35th verse of Surah Yunus [10].

“Say, ‘Allah guides/hidayat to truth/haqq.”

Hodja recites a part of the 31st verse of Surah Yunus [10].

To whom belongs to ownership of sight and hearing? It belongs only to Allah. The ownership of everything belongs to Allah. Who has control over minds/aql, comprehensions/idraq, inner/anfus and outer/afaq? It is Almighty Allah. Allah informs humankind of Allah’s existence, and does what? It is also Allah who informs people of Allah’s existence, it is, again, Allah. What does Allah say to people? Allah says, “My servant/qul! I have created you!” Allah personally informs the servants/qul of Allah’s existence, and the servant/qul acknowledges his Creator. Thus occurs the meeting between the servant/qul and his Rabb through faith/iman. He sees that he has been created within the mercy/rahmat of his Rabb. He says, “alhamdulillah,” and adheres to servitude because all bounty/nimat is from Allah.

Hodja recites a part of the 35th verse of Surah Yunus [10].

Who is worthier to be followed, or to be the God? Is it the One who guides/hidayat to the truth/haqq?

Hodja recites a part of the 35th verse of Surah Yunus [10].

Or is it the one who can never find guidance by himself unless he is guided?

Time Stamp: 25:00

Surely, he who creates and guides/hidayat is Allah, who is the true god/mabud. It is a reality that intellect/aql cannot discover a knowledge/ilm and find what is right by itself unless Allah guides/hidayat it, so let us look at the situation of those who divinize intellect/aql in the light of that. In the 35th verse intelligent beings are narrated with the expression, “man” in Arabic. In the 35th verse, Janâb-i Haqq used the particle, “man” for intelligent beings.

Hodja recites a part of the 35th verse of Surah Yunus [10].

“Unless he is guided/hidayat.”

Hodja recites a part of the 116th verse of Surah al-Baqarah [2].

They said, “Allah has taken a son.”

That is a slander against Allah. That is polytheism/shirk.

Hodja recites a part of the 35th verse of Surah Yunus [10].

Janâb-i Haqq says, “What is the matter with you now?”

Hodja recites a part of the 35th verse of Surah Yunus [10].

“How do you judge?”

Janâb-i Haqq says, “How come you are so obsessed with wrong?”

“How do you judge? How can you be the judge?”

How can you associate partners with Allah in a matter that you do not know? The existence of Haqq Ta’ala is completely exalted above all minds and physical beings for Allah is a Qadir-i Mutlaq being. Therefore, false judgments cannot be called judgment. There are no mistakes in the decrees/hukm of Allah. Allah is away/munazzah from mistakes, shortcomings, and diminution. That is why Allah’s decrees/hukm are excellent.

Hodja recites a part of the 36th verse of Surah Yunus [10].

“Most of them follow nothing but an assumption.”

They are carried away blindly like animals or inanimate objects. They stay addicted to their own views, and they are of inadiyyah, meaning what they follow is nothing but dogmatic ideas and what they fabricate as a philosophy, manner, action, and judgment are nothing but self-centric imperatives. If a person has faith/iman and intellect/aql, then he is to follow Allah’s decree/hukm for one thing, and submit to Allah’s command, and acknowledge Allah’s rulership, and judge by Allah’s decrees/hukm.

Hodja recites a part of the 36th verse of Surah Yunus [10].

Whereas assumption cannot express any truth/haqq, and it cannot stay contented at all.

Hodja recites a part of the 36th verse of Surah Yunus [10].

“There is no doubt that Allah knows what they do.”

Allah will judge them in the greater court tomorrow. Those who are acquitted are those who have faith/iman and good deeds/amal-e-saleh. People who understood Islam well and correctly, believed correctly, did the right deeds/amal, and subjected to the rules of law/sharia one by one will be acquitted and they will receive a great reward. This reward is the greatest janna/jannat-i âlâ by Allah’s grace/lutf, and divine beauty/jamal-e-ilahi, and the immortal, eternal, and blissful life.

May Janâb-i Mawla bestow upon all humanity the peace, justice, and monotheistic faith/tawhid iman of Holy Islam, we supplicate for Allah to grant these to all humanity. Allah has presented this to the servants, and the matter is left to the servant from then on. The servant will use his will either for faith/iman, or for disbelief/kufr. That is his decision. May Janâb-i Haqq make us among the servants/qul who use it for faith/iman and Islam, who are admitted to the peace and bliss of Islam, who are granted a life of bliss. Insha ‘Allah, our lectures will continue with exploratory notes on the life-giving light/nūr. May Janâb-i Haqq grant us bliss, and may Allah’s peace be upon all believers.

Al-Quran Al-Kareem – Tafsir (Exegesis) Lesson 344

On the 37th to 53rd verses of Surah Yunus [10].

I seek shelter in Allah from the rejected Satan. In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Hodja recites the 37th verse of Surah Yunus [10].

This glorious Quran, Al-Quran Al-Karim, is from Allah. It is a book that certainly came from Allah. Allah’s book that contains beginningless/azali and eternal/abadi realities/haqiqa. It cannot be made up by someone else, it has been sent down by the Rabb/Lord of the worlds/alamin as a confirmation of what was revealed before it and an explanation of the book, and there is no doubt about that.

Hodja recites a part of the 38th verse of Surah Yunus [10].

“Or do they say that he has made it up?”

Hodja recites a part of the 38th verse of Surah Yunus [10].

“Say, ‘Then bring a surah like it, and call whomsoever you can beside Allah. Do that if you are faithful to your word.’.”

Hodja recites the 39th verse of Surah Yunus [10].

“No! They belied something whose meaning they cannot comprehend and the interpretation of which has never reached them. Those who come and go before them had also belied likewise. But look, how was the end of the unjust/zalimun?”

Hodja recites the 40th verse of Surah Yunus [10].

Among them there are some who believe in it, and those who do not believe in it. And your Rabb/Lord knows best those who cause corruption.

Hodja recites the 41st verse of Surah Yunus [10].

If they continue to insist that you are lying, and if they deny your Prophethood… O glorious Prophet! Janâb-i Haqq is addressing Hz. Muhammad here. “For me are my deeds and for you are your deeds. You are away from what I do, and I am away from what you do.” Janâb-i Haqq told him to reply by saying that.

Janâb-i Mawla says the following.

Hodja recites the 42nd verse of Surah Yunus [10].

“Among them there are those who come to listen to you as well, but can you make the deaf hear while they do not understand?”

Time Stamp: 5:00

They come to listen, but they can never understand the truth in any way, they act unreasonable, but why? That is because they object to the Real/al-Haqq. May Allah do not make us among those, from whom Allah destroys the ability to understand this truth. There are such people who locked himself to disbelief/kufr, and they don’t want to understand the truth. They use their intellect/aql completely for the wrong, and never use it in the right path. May Allah not make us among them.

Hodja recites the 43rd verse of Surah Yunus [10].

“And among them there are those who look at you. But are you going to guide/hidayat them while they have no insight/basirat?”

You see, some of them also lose their insight/basirat, by which he personally closes all paths of guidance/hidayat for himself. Nobody other than Allah can give guidance/hidayat. Allah knows best whom to guide/hidayat. As for those who persist in denial, they fill up hell/jahannam.

Hodja recites the 44th verse of Surah Yunus [10].

“Allah does not do as much as an atom’s weight of injustice/zulm to people, but people do injustice/zulm to themselves.”

What is the wrong/zulm of people against themselves? It is their disbelief/kufr, polytheism/shirk, and hypocrisy/nifaq. It is to misuse the abilities such as will/irada and intellect/aql which have been given by Allah.

Hodja recites the 45th verse of Surah Yunus [10].

“They will be getting to know one another on the day when Allah will convey them all to the gathering/mahshar, and it will be as if they have stayed in the world no longer than a single hour of a day.”

See, therein they feel like they had stayed in the world only for a morning, and they did not have the time to get to know each other in the world, which is what they think. Those who deny that they will come to Allah’s presence, and did not follow the right path will surely be the losers. They are in complete loss.

Hodja recites the 46th verse of Surah Yunus [10].

“Whether We show you some of what We promised them right away…”

O My Glorious Khabib Muhammad!

“…or We take your soul back, they will return to Us. Then, Allah witnesses what they will do.”

Hodja recites the 47th verse of Surah Yunus [10].

“Every ummah has a Messenger. When their Messenger comes, the matter is decided between them with justice, and they are not dealt with unjustly.

Prophets come with Allah’s book in their hands, and with the sharia/law that Allah brings forth. Prophets come after one another, and the succeeding Prophet renews the sharia/law of the previous Prophet. Ulu’l azm Prophets came with new sharias/laws, and lastly, Hz. Muhammad has renewed the whole of past with the sharia/law of Islam and the glorious Quran.

After announcing these truths here, Janâb-i Haqq says the following.

Time Stamp: 10:20

Hodja recites the 49th verse of Surah Yunus [10].

They say, “When is this promised punishment, should you be truthful.” “Say, ‘I have no control over any benefit for myself nor over any harm beside what Allah may wish. I have no control over something like that. There is a time/ajal for every people/ummah.”

O my esteemed friends! Janâb-i Haqq says there is a time/ajal for every people/ummah! “When their hour/ajal comes, they shall not defer it by a single hour, nor shall they advance it.”

Hodja recites the 50th verse of Surah Yunus [10].

“Say, ‘What do you say? If Allah’s punishment were to come to you while you sleep or by day, which one of these would the guilty wish to come soon?”

Hodja recites the 51st verse of Surah Yunus [10].

“Will believe/iman in Allah when that punishment actually happens? Or right now? Whereas you have been asking for it to be hastened.”

Janâb-i Mawla is warning the whole of humankind in this verse. You should come to belief/iman before a trouble befalls you, before Azrail takes your life because the hour on which Azrail will come is not known. You should use every breath for belief/iman, in the way of obedience to Allah. Become a real Muslim and live the life as a Muslim. Let not Azrail take your life while you are in the wrong path, do not go from this world without belief/iman, and become a Muslim right away.

Hodja recites the 52nd and 53rd verses of Surah Yunus [10].

Are you going to believe in Allah after that punishment comes about, or now? Whereas you were hastening for it to come. Don’t worry, Azrail (a.s.)’s armies of death are breathing down on everyone’s neck. They take the lives of those whose time has come, and carry them to the grave, barzakh, and then to the gathering/mahshar.

“Then, it will be said to those who had wronged/zulm, “Taste the eternal punishment!” Are you going to be punished except for what you used to earn?”

“They ask you, ‘Is that punishment real?’ Say, ‘Yes, by my Rabb! It is true, and you cannot escape it.”

Hodja recites a part of the 53rd verse of Surah Yunus [10].

“Say.”

Hodja recites a part of the 53rd verse of Surah Yunus [10].

Look, he says, “Yes!” “Say, ‘Yes, I swear by my Rabb!”

Hodja recites a part of the 53rd verse of Surah Yunus [10].

“It is most surely true. And you…”

Hodja recites a part of the 53rd verse of Surah Yunus [10].

“You cannot escape from it.”

That is because you are not confronted by someone you can leave helpless. Allah, the All-Able/al-Qadir, free/munazzah from helplessness, possessor of infinite grandeur/a’zamat and omnipotence/qudrah. There is Almighty Allah. Not even a single faithless person has the chance of escaping from Allah’s armies, Allah’s rage, and Allah’s punishment. The only means of salvation, and the only means of being a recipient of Allah’s grace/lutf are faith/iman and good deeds/amal-e-saleh, which is bound to being a real Muslim.

Al-Quran Al-Kareem – Tafsir (Exegesis) Lesson 345

On the 54th to 64th verses of Surah Yunus [10].

I seek shelter in Allah from the rejected Satan. In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Hodja recites the 54th, 55th, 56th, 57th, and 58th verses of Surah Yunus [10].

Most esteemed and respected friends, our lectures continue with the discovery notes and life-giving lessons of the sacred verses of the Holy Quran, which is Almighty Allah’s beginningless and eternal constitution, along with the Life-Giving Islam of our Exalted Rabb. These prepare humanity to the immortal life.

“Every person who had wronged/zulm, and all wrongdoers/zalim on in world; if they had possessed everything on earth, would sacrifice it all in order to be saved from that punishment,” says Janâb-i Haqq and adds, “And they would secretly feel regret. The matter will be decided between them justly, and they will not be wronged.”

That is because Allah is free/munazzah from injustice/zulm. Allah gives the requital of a crime or a sin, whatever people deserve. Whatever a man has committed, he will be judged accordingly because Allah Ta’ala is the Real/al-Haqq, and personally implements complete justice. The judges in the world who decide according to their ideologies, those who do not believe in rule of law/huquq, those who do not implement justice, foremost all judges and statespeople, they will answer firstly to Allah tomorrow on the last day/ruz-i ceza.

“You should know that whatever there is in the heavens and in the earth belongs to Allah. Open your eyes! Allah’s promise is surely right and real. But most of them do not know.”

“Allah is both the life-giver and the life-taker.”

O judges! O hodjas! Establish truth, justice, and right. O rich people! Give the rights of the poor! O statespeople! Establish the social state of justice! Allah gave you a life and will take that life. Allah will kill you, resurrect you, and bring you to the gathering/mahshar, and bring you to account. O commanders, generals! Be the custodians of truth/haqq and reality/haqiqa and be under Allah’s command.

Time Stamp: 5:10

Establish the truth and justice on earth. Work for the causes of knowledge/ilm, learning/irfan, faith/iman, truth and justice, and supremacy of rights/huquq. Do not be a servant at someone’s command. Only be a qul/servant under Allah’s command. O statespeople! O bureaucrats! O all people who bear responsibility! Men and women, whosoever there is as a mature adult/bāligh al-‚aql! Janâb-i Haqq is the One who gives life and takes life. It is Allah who created paradise/janna and gives the immortal life. It is also Allah who created hell/jahannam, and gives punishment as requital of crimes, as a necessity of justice. And to Allah you will all be returned.

“O people! There has come to you an advice from your Rabb, and a cure for the ailments of the hearts, and guidance/hidayat and mercy/rahmat for the believers/mu’min.”

You see, these lessons clearly manifest themselves also through this verse of the Quran. What is said here? An advice from your Rabb for the whole of humankind. What is that advice? It is Allah’s book, and Allah’s utterance/kalam. Islam as a whole is the laws and advice of Allah. It is a cure for the ailments of the hearts. Do you want the cure for your heart and soul, and the immortal and blissful life? Then, the lifestyle brought forth by Al-Quran Al-Karim will save you from all troubles and calamities. It will save you from all wrongs and equip you with truth/haqq and reality/haqiqa. Al-Quran Al-Karim is the utter cure for your heart and soul, spirit and body. You only need to be in the sea of content within the Quran, and drink that content as much as you want, also eat and drink from the garden of the Quran, which is a garden from paradise/janna. Doing that is to be equipped with the contents of Al-Quran Al-Karim. It is to be in the sea of the Quran, in the world of meaning of Al-Quran Al-Karim, in the climate of meaning, and thereby rains of meaning should rain down upon your heart from the heavens of the Quran. That is a complete cure for the ailments of the hearts, and a guidance/hidayat for the believers/mu’min. But why is it a guidance/hidayat for the believers/mu’min? Allah Ta’ala conveys believers/mu’min to the way of Allah because they believe. As for disbelievers, they disacknowledge this guidance/hidayat, and that is a choice by their own free will. Then again, it is said that a complete guidance/hidayat and a complete mercy/rahmat come to the believers/mu’min. But why is there mercy/rahmat for the believers/mu’min? It came as a mercy/rahmat for all the worlds/alamin, but the believers/mu’min have acknowledged it, and those who refused have denied. Allah also rejected them from the mercy/rahmat. Allah rejected them from the straight path/sirat al-mustaqim, which is the path of guidance/hidayat. Who are you rejecting? Do you have the chance to reject your Creator? Even if you did, come and say, “I will not die,” to Azrail, and send Azrail back. Say you are not going to be created, and do not be created. Say you will not stay in Allah’s domain/mulk and eat the bounty/nimat of Allah. Don’t eat and get out of Allah’s domain/mulk if you don’t accept Allah and if you don’t accept the laws and commands of Allah. Do you have the power to do that? No, you don’t.

Time Stamp: 10:00

So, let us get our mind straight and be a servant/qul of Allah! Janâb-i Haqq says, “O people!” and manifested Al-Quran Al-Karim as the universal book, and the religion/din of Islam as the universal religion/din, and Hz. Muhammad as the universal and world-embracing Prophet of all nations and all ages. Allah’s mercy is manifested to all the worlds/alamin through Islam, the Quran, and Hz. Muhammad.

Hodja recites the 107th verse of Surah al-Anbiya [21].

This is a glorious verse/ayat of the Quran. Let us see what Janâb-i Haqq says to Hz. Muhammad (asw) here. “We sent you as a mercy/rahmat to all the worlds/alamin,” says Janâb-i Haqq. Allah manifests and has manifested the infinite grandeur/a’zamat, omnipotence/qudrah, and mercy/rahmat, and those who believe will benefit from this eternally, and they will benefit.

Janâb-i Mawla says the following.

“Say, ‘With the grace/ihsan and mercy/rahmat, let them rejoice in nothing but that. That is better than what they amass.”

No matter what you amass, and no matter what fortune you have, or what chair and position you get, the possessor of that bounty/nimat is Allah. then you will be thrown down to a place that you deserve, to the depths of hell/jahannam. If you need to be raised, and if you have used that position, chair, and wealth in Allah’s cause, then they will ascend you to the highest place in janna/ala-i illiyin. That is why, “Say, ‘With the grace/ihsan and mercy/rahmat of Allah. Let them rejoice in nothing but that.” We announce that we are eternally grateful to Allah when we see Allah’s mercy/rahmat and bounty/nimat because every bounty/nimat is from Allah. Then again, all blessing/lutf and grace/ihsan are from Allah. The whole of mercy/rahmat and bounty/nimat are from Allah. We rejoice by Allah’s mercy/rahmat, otherwise, we completely belong to Allah. But why do we rejoice? That is to praise and love Allah because blessings/lutf are from Allah, grace/ihsan is from Allah, mercy/rahmat is from Allah, bounty/nimat is from Allah, and we are servants/qul of Allah. We rejoice in our servitude, and we rejoice by Allah’s bounty/nimat and mercy/rahmat. However, we also confess our helplessness, ignorance, and heedlessness.

Most valuable friends, Janâb-i Haqq Allah speaks the truth/haqq, and is speaking the truth/haqq. Allah does not say anything but the truth/haqq. Allah’s words have always been and will always be the truth/haqq. Janâb-i Mawla says the following.

Hodja recites the 59th and 60th verses of Surah Yunus [10].

Let us see what our Exalted Rabb says in these verses/ayat of the Quran.

“Don’t you see, Allah has sent down many provisions/rizq for you.” Pay attention! Allah says, “sent down.” “You made some of them haram, and some of them halal. Say, ‘Did Allah give you permission, or are you slandering Allah?’”

My valuable friend, do you understand this verse? A person cannot call halal haram, or call haram halal. Nobody has the chance of making a bounty/nimat haram. Nobody has the chance to make something haram halal either. Allah determines what is haram. Allah determines what is halal.

Time Stamp: 15:35

What is noble in the heavens and the earth is ibaha-permissiveness. The heavens and the earth have been created for humanity. Allah brought forth certain harams for people, and said these things are haram. Those harams are a necessity of the wisdom/hikmat of Allah Ta’ala, and they are for trial. They are also to protect servants/qul from harm. Every haram and every sin has been forbidden, made haram, and called sin by Allah to save servants/qul from harm. Nobody can determine this beside Allah. Nobody can call what Allah calls haram halal, and he would be going against Allah if he does, and he would be denying Allah’s command. One cannot call haram things halal. Nobody can forbid the bounties/nimat of Allah. That is why there are endless and boundless halals, there are a lot of them, but the number of harams are limited. There are also ambiguous ones, and if you avoid these ambiguous ones then you will have preserved your religion/din, and you will have saved yourself.

That is why Janâb-i Haqq says, “Did Allah give you permission?” Allah gives permission to who? Allah makes the Messenger speak and sends revelation/wahy. Islam has been sent down to the Prophet by Allah, and the religion/din has been completed this way. So, what did all mujtahid âlims do? They studied the Quran, customs/sunnah, consensus/ijma, analogy/qiyas, the life of Hz. Muhammad and the Islam that he implemented and established from a to z. Islam, which is scientific, is practiced, is implemented, and is known has been protected to this day, and it will be protected eternally. That is why, “Or, are you slandering Allah?”

If a person calls a haram halal, he will have slandered Allah. If he turns halals into harams, he will still have slandered Allah. That is if you tell people Allah said something when Allah did not. Especially, if you try to misinterpret Al-Quran Al-Karim, then be prepared for your abode in hell/jahannam according to your whim. What do people who belie, slander, invent lies and slander Allah think the Day of Judgment is? Allah has granted many gifts/ihsan to people, but most of them do not give thanks/shukr, says Janâb-i Haqq. May Janâb-i Mawla make us among those who give thanks/shukr. So, what is shukr? True shukr is true dhikr/remembrance, being a real Muslim, real piety, being devout, and having a right and real faith/iman. It is to study those true knowledges/haqq ilm and do the necessary regarding this true faith/haqq iman and knowledge/ilm. That is how shukr begins and continues. Besides, knowing Islam is nothing but shukr, and embodiment of dhikr. Otherwise, it is not piety to count beads while sitting in the corner.

Time Stamp: 20:00

Religiousness is to know Islam from a to z, to believe it, to live it, to fulfil Allah’s commands one by one, to show obedience and worship, to attain detachment/zuhd from piety/taqwa. Therefore, it is to reach spiritual knowledge/ma’rifa.

With that said, esteemed friends,

Hodja recites the 61st verse of Surah Yunus [10].

Let us see what Janâb-i Haqq says in this sacred verse/ayat.

Allah says, “Whatever work you do,” and addresses us all.

Allah says, “Whatever you do, whatever you read from Al-Quran Al-Karim, whatever work you do, get your mind straight!” Allah says, “Whatever work you do, don’t forget that We are witness over you when you are engaged in it.”

That is, “We know what people do.” Allah Ta’ala is closer to us than ourselves. O people who claim to have faith/iman! O people who say they are Allah’s servant/qul! Allah is closer to us than ourselves, and whatever work you do, whatever you read, Allah watching us, and Allah is our witness. That is what Allah says. “Not even something as much as an atom’s weight can escape and be saved from your Rabb’s sight in the heavens or in the earth.” Anything can stay hidden from Allah whether it is smaller than an atom or bigger than it. Allah’s omnipotence/qudrah encompasses azal and abad, and wherever you go Allah is therein, even if you go underground, the omnipotence/qudrah of Allah is therein. Even if you go rise above heavens, the omnipotence/qudrah of Allah encompasses everything therein. They have been encompassed by the omnipotence/qudrah of Allah, encompassed by the knowledge/ilm of Allah. Also, there are countless armies that Allah has created, whose numbers are known only to Allah, and nobody else can know them.

Allah has endless and boundless armies that are seen and unseen. Who are Allah’s manifest armies on earth who are out in open? That is believers/mu’minun. They are Allah’s armies on earth. They are the army of peace, tranquillity, truth, and justice. They are the real faithful Muslims on earth. Everybody who bear faith/iman and stay devoted to Allah’s command has a rank in Allah’s army on earth, and they are given ranks according to the work they put in. This degree is given by Allah. Allah gives chair and position. Paradise/janna has many layers and degrees, hell/jahannam is also like that, it has many layers, and it goes down and down.

In the heavens and in the earth, not even an atom’s weight of something can stay hidden from your Rabb. Nothing has the chance of escaping or disappearing. “Yet these are all present in a manifest book.” Allah knows everything since everything is encompassed by Allah’s own knowledge/ilm. Also, what is said about the book? Allah gives command to the Pen, and says, “Write.” Allah makes it write by the command, kun-be.

Time Stamp: 25:00

Esteemed friends, surely there are Allah’s friends, awliya servants/qul who subject to Allah’s command by devoting their hearts, bodies, as well as physical and spiritual abilities to Almighty Allah. Pay close attention to what Janâb-i Haqq says.

Hodja recites the 62nd verse of Surah Yunus [10].

“Open your eyes!” says Allah and adds, “There is neither fear upon Allah’s friends/awliya, nor will they grieve.”

That is, while everyone trembles with fear, there is no fear for them, nor will they grieve. Even if hell broke loose every single day, there is no fear for Allah’s awliya servants/qul, and they will not grieve. But why? That is because fear of Allah erases all fears. Love of Allah encompasses everything, and those servants/qul have been encompassed by Janâb-i Haqq’s mercy/rahmat. They have been placed under protection. They have the attribute hifz/protection, and the Prophets have the attribute ismah/infallibility. As for awliya, they have the attribute hifz/protection. With that said…

Hodja recites the 64th verse of Surah Yunus [10].

What is there for them in the life of this world and in afterlife? There are glad tidings. They have believed.

Hodja recites a part of the 63rd verse of Surah Yunus [10].

And they abstained from going against Allah. They fully submitted to Allah’s command. They have obeyed. They did not rebel, and they are the pious/muttaqi. There are glad tidings for them in the life of this world and in the life of afterlife/ākhira. There is no chance in Allah’s words.

Hodja recites a part of the 64th verse of Surah Yunus [10]

“There is no chance in Allah’s words.”

Besides, nobody can change Allah’s laws. Those who will have ruined themselves, and they will have corrupted themselves. Allah’s laws do not change. Allah (c.c.)’s laws are the textual/kitābi laws in Islam. There are the textual laws and signs which are the verses/ayat of Al-Quran Al-Karim. There are also cosmological signs/kevni ayat in the universe. They function by means of Allah’s commands, and they are under Allah’s control. Without a doubt, the absolute ruler of all the worlds or alamin is Allah. Allah has created many servants/qul and has given them duties in the ecosystem. Everyone has a duty. Not even a single fly has been created in vain, nor a single ant. Everything has been created with a wisdom. Nothing has been created in vain. Those who claim they are being created in vain have empty minds. Those are outdated mindsets. Those are charred and ignorant brains that do not get Al-Quran Al-Karim. The cure and remedy of them is knowledge/ilm, learning/irfan, and science. They should make use of knowledge/ilm, learning/irfan, and scientific studies, and fill up their empty minds with knowledge/ilm and learning/irfan. They should enlighten their dark hearts and souls with the light of the Quran. See, that is the greatest salvation.

Hodja recites a part of the 64th verse of Surah Yunus [10].

That is what Janâb-i Haqq said.

“That is the greatest salvation.”

You see, Al-Quran Al-Karim has been preparing you to the greatest salvation. Prepares you to the greatest salvation, the immortal life, and the most blissful life.

Time Stamp: 30:02

You are being saved from whatever there is wrong and dangerous. For one thing, it saves you in the world, in the grave, in the gathering/mahshar, and from hell/jahannam, and prepares you to paradise/janna. It prepares you in the world. The type of belief/iman and Islam that you are prepared is the type and model of person that Allah wants. It prepares you to paradise/janna. The entire model of that has been completely brought forth via Islam. The way of those who follow the sharia/law of Islam, the order of Islam, the decrees/hukm of the verses/ayat of Allah, just like our Prophet has taught us, and just like his companions/ashab did, by the knowledge and wisdom/ilm-irfan of those who follow and know that path well, is the path of Ahlus-Sunnah wa’l-Jama’ah. See, all mujtahid schools and ecoles in the world have been founded for that. Our grand ulama has been preserving the right understanding of Islam to this day so that people may not deviate to ways of deviant innovation/ahlul bid’ah and misguidance/dalalah, and that people may not be harmed. That is why the complete religious understanding of the mujtahids of the ecoles of the Four Schools have been accepted by the 99% of the Muslims on earth as the real understanding of religion/din brought forth by our Prophet and his companions, and that is the way of Ahlus-Sunnah wa’l-Jama’ah.  Those who claim to be Islamic scholars/âlims beside those have rights and wrongs. We say all rights are from us, from Islam. But wrongs are not from Islam. Wrongs belong to individuals, but Muslims who accept the commands of Allah Ta’ala, whether they are guilty or not guilty, with or without sin, everyone is still our brothers, on the condition that they do not participate in wrongs at all. One does not participate if something is wrong. You cannot even join your father in something wrong. Wrong is wrong, but it is utter ignorance to call right wrong.

Sometimes, a mujtahid faces an utterly ignorant person who stands against the mujtahid. He doesn’t know but he denies the mujtahid and considers his own ignorance a knowledge/ilm. That is ifrat/extremeness, tafrit/remissness, jahl al-murakkab/compound ignorance. One should not fall into that situation. The arguments between mujtahids is a blessing/rahmat for this is a competition in knowledge/ilm. They have been given this authority by Allah. They are istinbāt âlims. A mujtahid is an esteemed figure who knows all sources of Islam with proofs. That is why not everybody has the chance of becoming a mujtahid. There are prerequisites of becoming a mujtahid. One needs to comprehend Al-Quran Al-Karim, the sunnah/customs, ijma/consensus, qiyas/analogy, the history of Islam, implementations of Islam, actional and scientific aspects of Islam. He needs to comprehend these as a whole, and also comprehend the conditions of time very well because the religion/din of Islam is one that encompasses all ages until last day/qiyamah. Islam brings forth brand-new provisions in itself according to the conditions of time. There is no alteration in the core because its scope is so wide that ages are like an atom, or a droplet compared to the Quran. The narrow minds that do not understand the Quran call it outdated. Allah Ta’ala is free/munazzah from ages, time, and space. Al-Quran Al-Karim is the book of Allah. O foolish man! O stupid man! It is the book of Allah! The way Allah encompasses all eternity/azal-abad, the contents of the book of Allah in filled to the brim with values that encompass all eternity/azal-abad. Al-Quran Al-Karim is the knowledge/ilm of Allah.

Time Stamp: 35:10

No matter which era you are in, you are always lowly with your dark brain. You are not even outdated, rather you are going down below the ground to a lower ranking. Al-Quran Al-Karim came to save you. So, come! Come to the light/nūr of the Quran. Abandon darkness. Abandon the microbes therein. Come, the cure is here. Mercy is here, immortal and blissful life is here. Come to the horizon of the Quran. Come to Allah. Come to Prophet Muhammad. Come to the real knowledge/ilm-irfan of mujtahids! We are not among those who call people to themselves! We accept humankind as our fellows, and we call to the Allah the Real. We are among those who call to the Prophet and the Quran. We are not among those who call to themselves. Those who call to themselves idolize themselves and consider themselves Rabb. Those who call to themselves are calling humankind to idolatry. Some people call to their own master, others call to their own guide, and another calls to his leader. Yet another calls to who knows what. And one by one these had become so-called rabbs/lords and emerged. You may see Al-Quran Al-Karim and look at how clergy was adopted as a Rabb/Lord. See what Al-Quran Al-Karim says. It is said that they adopted rabbis, monks, clergy, and priests as a Rabb/Lord. Today, the situation Muslims are in is to adopt Muslimhood without the Quran, and somebody as a Rabb/Lord. Those who act without the Quran, without knowledge/ilm-irfan, and without mujtahids are adhere by some people without knowledge. They adopted things some people say as the Quran, without knowing whether what they say are against the Quran or not. They accept what they say as the Quran without taking into consideration whether it is against the Quran or not. What is that? That is to acknowledge someone as a Rabb/Lord. Idolatry is not only about making idols and setting them up and worshipping them. There are so many unnamed idolatry. We are to bring forth the truth and reality/haqq-haqiqa and knowledge/ilm-irfan without intemperance/ifrat and remissness/tafrit. We will not bring forward some people. We are not even bringing forth the personalities of our mujtahids. Rather, we observe their knowledge/ilm-irfan and how they beautifully understood the customs/sunnah based on Al-Quran Al-Karim. We also observe what is practiced based on consensus/ijma. We observe how Islam, which has been sent down by Allah, has been practiced by Muhammad Mustafa and his companions/ashab, and how it was known. We observe the knowledge/ilm of the mujtahids who know these through scholarly documents. We do not observe their personalities. With that said, those who bear that knowledge/ilm are surely valuable figures, and we pray for Allah’s mercy/rahmat upon them. We do not worship them. Nobody can be taken as a rabb. Not even Prophets can be Rabbs/Lords. The only Rabb is Allah. Prophets call people to Allah. They teach people about the religion/din of Allah. They teach them servitude to Allah. Islamic scholars/âlims are also like that. Those who call themselves, who lack knowledge/ilm-irfan and the Quran, these rentiers, vampires, deviants who deviate the ignorant, those who do work in dark corners, those who run away from knowledge/ilm-irfan, and those who try to divinize others; there is danger here because there cannot be an understanding of religion/din in Islam without knowledge/ilm-irfan. That is why, esteemed friends, let us make Al-Quran Al-Karim speak. Let the Quran speak, and let us understand, listen, believe, and act according to its provision/hukm. That is religiousness. Let us know Islam well through knowledge/ilm, which our Prophet explained. Let us benefit from the knowledge/ilm of our Islamic scholars/âlims.

Time Stamp: 40:20

Let us not accept non-âlims as âlims. Rather, let us try to teach them about knowledge/ilm-irfan in order to beneficial to them because Islam came to embrace the universe, and it came for the salvation of all humanity. The religion/din of Islam is not hostile to anyone, rather the warmest and real friend of humanity is Islam and Muslims. They are friendly to all creatures/makhluqat. With that said, kufr/disbelief cannot be a friend of iman/belief. Then again, shirk/polytheism cannot be a friend of tawhid/disbelief. Also, hypocrites/munafiq   cannot be a friend of uprightness, truthfulness, and loyalty. Also, unjust/zalim cannot be a friend of justice. Also, the unjust/zalimun. The problem is with them. There are no problems in Islam or Muslims. There cannot be. If there a fault in a Muslim, then it is an individual fault. That fault is not in Islam. If there is something that Muslim does not now, he will be taught but he has to be open to learning and knowledge/ilm-irfan. He should not be an obsessed fanatic. For example, those who take someone as a rabb have fanaticism. They are obsessed in them. They talk about their leader non-stop and as if there is no other leader in the world. They are obsessed with their own leader. They claim there is no other in the world. Just like a person who has never seen another bird but his own. Like a person who has not seen a stream or a sea other than a creek in his town. That is why this obsession is called taassup or fanaticism in Islam. There is no taassup or fanaticism in Islam. Islam is a religion/din of science and progress. Non-stop advancement and progress through true and scholarly documents and knowledge/ilm-irfan.

Now, let me give you certain explanatory notes about the verses/ayat on Allah’s friends. Fear of Allah has removed every other fear from them. See, there is no fear or sorrow for Allah’s friends, but why? That is because fear of Allah removes all fears. But you should get this right, fear and precaution are different things. It is best to remove all types of fear except that of Allah. Yet there is no command that dictate you should give up precaution. So, what is precaution? It is to thoroughly evaluate the conditions you find yourself in, to implement the commands of the sharia/law, and to know Islamic politics well. Islamic politics is Allah’s politics. It is right, just, and honest. It is to evaluate the setting you are in well in order to bid what is beneficial and defy what is harmful. That is why fear of Allah is one that removes all types of other fears, along with love they are two wings, and you fly towards Allah with these wings. One of them is a wing of love, the other is a wing of fear, and one flies to Allah using both. Every good action is to fly to Allah. That is because the omnipotence/qudrah of Allah encompasses you and raises you to a place you are to be raised. Those who are friends of Allah, and those who are friends only for Allah, and again those who support each other only for Allah in the legitimate way. Being a friend of Allah expresses meanings such as these and legitimate guardianship, love/muhabbat, friendship, aid, doing one’s work on his behalf, etc. The backings/sanads of these are present in Tabari one by one. Look, our beloved Prophet has said the following in a hadith-i sharif narrated by Ibn Majah: “Who is an awliya?” they asked, and he replied.

Hodja recites a part of the original text of the hadith.

“They are such people when they are seen Allah is remembered and mentioned. Wisdom falls from their speech. Allah’s friends have no vain actions, they do not use empty words, and they do not spend time in vain.”

Also, another narration says the following.

Hodja recites a part of the original text of the hadith.

“Allah is remembered when they are seen.”

Time Stamp: 46:30

A person remembers Allah when he sees an awliya person. Pay attention! A real Islamic scholar/âlim directs a person to Allah, not himself. That is where awliyaship begins. That is a narration in Al-Dur al-Manthur which is committed to paper by Al-Suyuti. Being around them, their behaviour, stance, and actions immediately make one remember Allah. Abdullah ibn Abbas has interpreted/tafsir it as ihbat and sekinet, meaning their stance and movement instead of something else.

They have no love or addiction to worldly things and wealth either. They spend their goods and wealth in the way of Allah. They show love and friendship to each other through hubb-i fillah, by loving Allah only for Allah. That is the hadith-i sharif in the narration narrated by Abu Dawood.

Hodja partly recites the original text of the hadith-i sharif.

This has been narrated as “They are people who love each other for the sake of Allah,” which is a hadith-i sharif narrated by Sahih-i Muslim, Tirmidhi, and others. So, it means that the standards of love are to love Allah, to love what which Allah loves, and love them for Allah, to act in a legitimate manner, and to follow the standards of sharia/law. They are not anbiya/prophets, nor are they shahid/martyrs, but due to their position in the sight of Allah on the Day of Judgment/Qiyamah, the nabis/prophets and shahids/martyrs will watch them envyingly. So, who are they? Pay close attention! Through their spirit/ruh, they make love in Allah. The spirit/ruh is a creature/makhluq, a command among the commands of Allah. That is, they are in love for Allah. They do not have any other goal. They do not even imagine something else; they love the things that are to be loved only for Allah. But the only source of this love is only the love of Allah and love for Allah. The narrator says, “I swear that their faces are a nūr/light, and they themselves are on a minbar made out of nūr/light.” That is, on the day of gathering/mahshar.

Time Stamp: 50:00

They do not fear when people are frightened. They do not grieve when people grieve.

Hodja recites the 62nd verse of Surah Yunus [10].

Also, Hakim is present among the sources of this narration/riwayat, and it is also under record in El-Mustedrek. There are also narrations/riwayat from Abu Huraira and Abu Malik Ash’ari in the same meaning. They display worship, obedience, and love to Allah. Allah displays friendship to them by gifting/ihsan them wonders/karamat. They are pleased with Allah, and Allah is pleased with them. The ranks of radiyah/contentment and mardiyah/with whom Allah is pleased have been granted to them.

Hodja recites the 63rd verse of Surah Yunus [10].

Everybody should pay close attention now! “They have believed and have been fearful of Allah.”

That is, they are always obedient to Allah. They do not rebel. That is to be a first-degree believer/mu’min; now, the first prerequisite of becoming an awliya is to become a believer/mu’min. Awliya have various ranks. Believers/mu’min also have various ranks. What matters is to become the first-degree believer/mu’min. There is awliyaship in a real believer/mu’min, and he is an awliya of Allah, he is also an awliya/friend of Allah, but his rank is different. It is to bear the trait of ittiqa due to fear of Allah in the second-degree. That is, they wend their way to Allah.

They live completely oriented to Almighty Allah. Their thoughts are nothing but the pleasure/riza and command of Allah Ta’ala. Their courtesy, submission, and contemplation are Allah Ta’ala. They do everything that they do for Allah.

Hodja recites the 64th verse of Surah Yunus [10].

“Glad tidings are theirs in the worldly life and in the life of afterlife/ākhira.”

That is a kindness and treat of Allah Ta’ala, as their reward. That is why…

Hodja recites a part of the 30th verse of Surah al-Fussilat [41].

Janâb-i Haqq says the following here.

“They say, ‘Surely, our Rabb is Allah,’ and remain steadfast. The angels descend upon them and say…”

See, angels descend upon them as they die, as they are in the grave, and as they get up from the grave and come to the gathering/mahshar. Also, there are guardian angels of these people on earth. “And say, ‘Do not fear and do not grieve but rejoice in the paradise/janna which you have been promised.’.” That is what our Exalted Rabb has commanded in the 30th verse of Surah Fussilat. Then again, let us see what is said about them in the afterlife/ākhira in the 73rd verse of Surah al-Zumar [39].

Hodja recites a part of the 73rd verse of Surah al-Zumar [39].

“Peace be upon you!”

Peace be on you! Welcome to paradise/janna. Please, enter paradise/janna to stay therein for eternity. They are treated like that, and this is how they are welcomed.

Hodja recites a part of the 64th verse of Surah Yunus [10].

“There is no chance in the words of Allah.”

There is no power that can frighten or sadden someone to whom Allah said, “Do not fear and do not grieve.” If somebody has been said, “My qul, do not fear,” by Allah, then nobody can frighten him anymore. If somebody has been said, “Do not grieve,” then nobody can sadden him anymore. That is why their love is for Allah. Their sadness, sobbing, supplication, and appeal are only to Allah, not anyone else. Also, nobody should forget the following!

Hodja recites a part of the 11th verse of Surah ar-Rad [13].

“Allah does not change the condition of a people until they change themselves.”

That means, Allah does not corrupt anyone before they corrupt themselves. That is why everyone should straighten themselves up and endeavour to be good Muslims.

Hodja recites a part of the 64th verse of Surah Yunus [10].

Allah says, “That is the ultimate salvation.”

We supplicate that Janâb-i Haqq makes us among the servants/qul who attain the ultimate salvation.

Our lectures here are the lessons of the life-giving light/nūr. The supreme salvation is here. We supplicate may Janâb-i Haqq make us all among the servants/qul who are saved by through the supreme salvation. We supplicate may we be among the servants/qul who are recipients of the endless blessings/lutf of Allah, who is rich for eternity.

Al-Quran Al-Kareem – Tafsir (Exegesis) Lesson 346

I seek shelter in Allah from the rejected Satan. In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Esteemed listeners, some information has been requested regarding Wahhabism. Let me try to give you short but to the point information in that subject. Wahhabism is a madhab founded by Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab, who died in 1787. This figure took an extremist approach to certain ideas of Ibn Taymiyyah. He adhered to those ideas fanatically and put them into application. We may summarise primary provisions as follows.

Firstly, they claim that the fundamental proof is the book, and intellect/aql cannot be proof. Mutashabih or equivocal verses are proofs just like clear verses, and their apparent/zahir meanings have been desired. Because of that, it is disbelief/kufr to interpret/taʾwīl-tafsir them. They say they are given meaning with their apparent/zahir meaning. They have separated from Ahlus-Sunnah wa’l-Jama’ah in that because the interpretation/taʾwīl of the equivocal/mutashabih verses are known by Allah. Yet they did not submit their interpretation/taʾwīl to Allah and the competent âlims/rasih ulama, and what did they do? They did not submit it to the glory of Allah Ta’ala. They did not submit their real meanings and purpose to Allah. Instead, they have given meaning to the equivocal/mutashabih, and they were wrong in doing that. They also deeds/amal are present in belief/iman and it is built into it. Meaning, they accept deeds/amal in belief/iman as a part of it or as the whole of it. Some say, “Deeds/amal are a part/juzʼ of belief/iman,” and this view is the same of the view of Muʿtazila where they claim deeds/amal are an element/rukun of belief/iman. That is, they unite with Muʿtazila in that regard. Deed/amal is not a part/juzʼ of belief/iman according to Ahlus-Sunnah wa’l-Jama’ah. Belief/iman is heart’s affirmation/tasdiq and the tongue’s confirmation/iqrar. As for deed/amal, it is the name of practicing what you believe. Now, because of that the Wahhabis claim that the blood of a person who misses one time of prayer/namaz due to laziness is waste. Pay attention! They claim that the blood of a person who misses one time of prayer/namaz due to laziness is a waste, and his wealth has been considered halal to take. This has no correlation whatsoever with Islam. May Allah protect! This is extremely wrong. That is one of the biggest strifes among Muslims. I am talking about that wrong. There have been people who renounced this wrong. Some are moderate towards it, and some still couldn’t renounce it. Pay attention! These are the wrongs of Wahhabi. These are their aspects that do not suit Ahlus-Sunnah. Now, look. They say if a person misses one times of prayer/namaz due to laziness or due to any cause his blood is a waste. What does that mean, his blood is a waste? It means that his death is necessary, kill him. It says you can kill him. How can they think that? They consider his wealth halal. They terrorized people in Islam. The biggest strife/fitnah among Muslims had emerged.

Moreover, they say it is disbelief/kufr and polytheism/shirk to do tawassul, to make other things intermediaries. They are exorbitance/tafrit and remissness/ifrat here as well. They also have rights, and they have aspects that fall into exorbitance/ifrat and remissness/ifrat. Here, they fall into polytheism/shirk while trying to run away from it. They say that tawassul, making other things intermediaries is disbelief/kufr and polytheism/shirk. They say it is disbelief/kufr to hope for help from angels, Prophets, and spirits, and to hope for intercession/shafa’ah from Prophets. They also mixed right and wrong here. There are rights and wrongs in this view of theirs. Now, what is tawassul? People learn knowledge/ilm from each other. What is that? That is a means, he learns knowledge/ilm from him. Now, when you take studying knowledge/ilm from each other into the scope of tawassul, and when you consider these people intermediaries, and when you call this polytheism/shirk, what are you doing? You are transgressing. They say it is disbelief/kufr to hope for help from angels, Prophets, and spirits. They say it is disbelief/kufr to expect intercession/shafa’ah from Prophets. Whereas Almighty Allah has said, “Seek forgiveness/istighfar for the believers/mu’min,’ to our Prophet. Intercession/shafa’ah is real. The command regarding intercession/shafa’ah is given by Allah. The Prophet cannot intercede/shafa’ah on his own. He won’t, and he can’t. They mixed right and wrong in this regard.

That said, Wahhabis extremely widened the meaning of innovation/bid’ah, and they have left nothing that is not innovation/bid’ah or disbelief/kufr. They say tasawwuf and tariqa are innovations/bid’ah. They say it is innovation/bid’ah to adhere to a mentor/murshid, and it is innovation/bid’ah to take him as a means. They say it is polytheism/shirk and disbelief/kufr to establish relation. They say it is disbelief/kufr to build domes above graves. They say it is disbelief/kufr and misguidance/dalalah to sacrifice consecrated to Allah as vow, and to visit graves. They have remissness/tafrit here, and they have views close to truth, and they have wrongs. If a person attributes disbelief/kufr to a faithful Muslim who is not a disbeliever/kāfir, then he himself falls into disbelief/kufr. Now, they are throwing themselves to danger, and they have. Wahhabis considered charitable institutions batil/wrong. They closed grand Ottoman charitable institutions especially in Mecca and Madinah, and in the Islamic cities they have entered. They looted those institutions. Moreover, they also considered cigarettes and coffee haram, they went even more extreme, and just like Kharijites, they took this matter so extreme that they declared people unbelievers/takfir because of that. That is, they have called people who drink coffee disbelievers/kāfir. Besides, they fully objected to actions like counting beads after prayer/namaz, building minarets, and kissing hands etc. Whereas there is authentic sunnah regarding counting beads after prayer/namaz. As for building minarets, it is done by ijtihad based on the implementations of our Prophet in order to recite azaan from high. It is reverence to kiss a hand, it has nothing to do with disbelief/kufr or polytheism/shirk. That said, what is the relation with that and showing love, respect, and compassion to elders and showing mercy and compassion to minors?

Time Stamp: 10:10

Besides, these are essential in human beings, they are to show respect to elders and show compassion to minors; kissing a person’s hand is an apparent implementation. This has nothing to do with disbelief/kufr or polytheism/shirk. In that way there is no religious action left that is not considered sin, disbelief/kufr, or polytheism/shirk. Meaning, they have called everything disbelief/kufr and polytheism/shirk. May Allah protect! Wahhabis have used sword against people whom they think are opposed to themselves. They have shed Muslim blood. They tried to spread their ideas by force of arms. A movement that started to establish sunnah and extinguish bid’ah lead to the emergence of a great hypocrisy/nifaq and strife/fasad in the world of Islam. They brought forth the biggest strife/fasad, and they also brought forth hypocrisy/nifaq, and they called it fight against bid’ah. Actually, what they do is beyond bid’ah, it is murder. This movement that continued with violence and stiffness with the aid and provocation of the British… Now, pay close attention! Who fan the flames here? It was the orientalist of that time. This turned into a rebellion against Ottoman Empire in the Arabian Deserts, with the aid and provocation of orientalist British, and they occupied Ottoman administration and Ottoman armies for years. They have been together with the Crusaders of that time. They have been together with the British. In the end, the rebels could hardly be defeated by the helps of Mehmet Ali Pasha. Surely, we are talking about that time. This continues in a different manner today. They are not much today, but their wrongs still continue. They continue in a little bit more moderate manner. The first thing Wahhabis do when they enter or settle in new residential area is to bring ruin to graves. They destroyed the graves. In Islam, visiting graves is fundamental. Graves are visited, and we remember death. We send gifts to the souls of the passed away. That is the meaning of that visit. People are not going to graves to worship them. They went too extreme in this regard as well. Islam does not like extremeness. Islam does not like exorbitance/ifrat or remissness/tafrit. In that regard, they destroyed turbahs as well as open graves and tombs. Moreover, they immediately brought ruin to all graves of the sahabah the moment they took the administration of Hejaz. Even if they attempted to destroy the grave of our Prophet, they could not succeed. That is, they even tried to destroy our Prophet’s rawda/garden, but Allah did not allow them. There are people who even consider referring to our Prophet as “Master” an innovation/bid’ah. That is, they are so deviated that they even consider referring to our Prophet as “Master” an innovation/bid’ah. What does, “My master,” mean? He is an uswa hasana/excellent model of conduct, and what does Allah say about our Prophet in Al-Quran Al-Karim? Allah says he is an uswa hasana/excellent model of conduct. Can’t a person say, “my master,” to a Prophet who is sent to the worlds/alamin as a mercy/rahmat? Can’t a person recite salat and salaam for him? What did Allah do in Attahayyatu? Allah mentioned the Prophet, and those who perform namaz and the righteous/saleh servants/qul are mentioned.

Time Stamp: 15:32

So, it means that they weren’t smart enough for these matters, if they could afford, they were going to abrogate the verses/ayat that mention the Prophet in Al-Quran Al-Karim. That is, a prophet of mercy/rahmat to all the worlds/alamin. accepted obedience to Allah as obedience to the Prophet. Allah accepted obedience to the Prophet as obedience to Allah.

Hodja recites a part of the 59th verse of Surah al-Nisa [4].

Those who love Me should follow the Prophet,” says Allah.

We see that these people who assume they acknowledge Al-Quran Al-Karim as a fundamental do not understand the Quran. Then again, among them there are people who consider referring to our Prophet as, “our Master,” an innovation/bid’ah. There have been times where they did not allow changing the cover of our Prophet’s grave, which is Rawda al-Mutahhara, until it became ragged and tattered because of that. You see, they are even against a new cover for the rawda/garden of our Prophet. However, their exorbitance/ifrat became a lot more moderate today. They were even more terrible in the past, but now they continue in a moderate manner. They still have wrongs, but they have rights as well. The understanding of Rationalist Islamic Positivist which has emerged at the end of the 19th century and developed later was represented by Jamal al-Din al-Afghani and Muhammad Abdul. Contrary to what is said, instead of Wahhabism, it represents Ibn Taymiyyah and return to Salafiyyah with a formalist and scholarly approach. Wahhabism is to disinclude intellect/aql, exegesis/tafsir, and interpretation/taʾwīl in the religion/din. It is to understand the belief of monotheism/tawhid as actional monotheism/amal-i tawhid. It is to declare Muslims as unbelievers and draw weapons on them by considering them polytheists/mushrik. It is to rebel against the Caliph. It is to get carried away by the provocations of the westerners against the world of Islam. See, this is very dangerous. So, who organized them into this? It is a mentality filled to the brim with wrongs and heresies such as sowing the seed of a strife/fitnah that will butter the bread of the westerners by their provocation, and ruining artefacts of civilization. They have wrongs next to many lovely rights. There are aspects in which they are right in their starting point, but the results they achieved, and their demeanour always generated harm/tawlet. So, what is tawlet? A harm emerges. They are generating harm non-stop. Also, to consider people of tariqa and tasawwuf polytheists, and to neglect or willingly deny how this path has raised individuals and masses according to an order of morality and belief, and an idea of perfect human/insan al-kamil, how it helped the advancement of culture and art, and how it regulated social and economical life with rectitude people.

Time Stamp: 20:10

That is because the ecole called tasawwuf is the spirit of Islam. It is the ecole that saves faith and devotion to Allah from formalism, one that necessitates becoming a real servant/qul of Allah Ta’ala, one that takes nourishment from the sharia/law and acts after being affirmed/tasdiq by the sharia/law. Tasawwuf is fundamental in Islam. It is the spirit of the sharia, and it is interbedded with sharia. That is why the Wahhabis have been wrong here. Even today, there is an ignorant lot who insists on that, but they are a little more moderate compared to past. Yet, their actions against Ahlus-Sunnah are not right. Ahlus-Sunnah represents the truth, and the science of Islam. It is the al-firqah al-najiyah/the saved group. All mujtahids in the ecoles of the Four Schools are mujtahids of Ahlus-Sunnah wa’l-Jama’ah. They constitute the 99% of all Muslims on earth, or maybe more. That said, our goal here is not to criticize anyone, rather our goal is to unite in monotheism/tawhid, knowledge/ilm-irfan, and remove wrongs, and be a means of everyone’s salvation. Islam came to save humankind.

Kharijites called even Hz. Ali a disbeliever/kāfir in history. They also called companions/ashab disbelievers/kāfir and pulled sword on them. They tried to kill the âlims. Today, we see that Wahhabis fell into the same mistake back then, and evil-powers organized them. Muslims should be wary, and do not fall prey to these games! Islam is the peace, justice, knowledge/ilm-irfan, and divine order of the world. It is not a poem of false values for corrupted mindsets. Islam is divine/ilahi. It cannot be measured by the mentality of a Wahhabi, or anyone else. Islam can only be measured by its own standards, and it is divine/ilahi. Therefore, individuals do not represent Islam. Islam represents itself. The sources of Islam are known, the only exemplary figure is Hz. Muhammad. And those who follow his path, and Ahlus-Sunnah wa’l-Jama’ah. Apart from that, if I have a mistake, if you have a mistake, or if others have a mistake, then we need to come together and be saved from these mistakes through the knowledge/ilm-irfan and the Quran. Our goal is to eat grapes, not beating up the grape grower. May Janâb-i Haqq grant salvation from all that is wrong to all our brothers on earth.

Now, let me show you these sources if some of you request additional information regarding Wahhabism. Berâetü’l Eş’ariyyin min Akâidi’l Muhâlifîn – Ehl-i Sünnet’in Müdafaası. Get this book and read it. There is also a translated version of this, and you can also read the book that Hasip Seren has translated, this is one. Let me give you a second source as well. It is, Tamir Ederken Tahrip Edenler.

Time Stamp: 25:00

Now, our Wahhabi brothers got stuck in a greater polytheism/shirk while trying to save people from it, but they do not know. I did not open up the subject of equivocal/mutashabih verses much because they designate time and space to Allah. They claim Allah sits on the Throne/Arsh. That is shirk, a greater shirk. Allah is free from time and space. That why especially the Wahhabis should read the second source in order to get authentic information on Wahhabis. Everybody should read it, but our Wahhabi brothers should read it as well. My goal is the salvation of the world’s Muslims from the wrongs completely, and that they may be beneficial to the whole of humankind, and to save Muslims from fitnah-fasad, division and segregation. What do you want to do? What good do you do? You toppled down Ottoman Empire, and what happened? With whom did you end up with upon toppling down Ottoman Empire? Kharijites stood against Hz. Ali, and what happened? They were slain by sword in Nahrawan. Nobody has the right to cause hypocrisy/nifaq and rebellion/nifaq into Islam. You may only come forth through scientific knowledge/ilm-irfan, and then we resort to the source of that knowledge/ilm-irfan and everybody will get the necessary lesson. You cannot teach religion to Allah. For one thing, you cannot teach religion to the Prophet. You cannot teach religion to mujtahids either, and you need to learn from them. And renounce wrongs. Now, the 2nd source is Dini Tamir Ederken Tahrip Edenler. If you wish to purchase the translated version of it, you may purchase the book Ahmet Davutoğlu has written. Let me tell you its name again. It is Tamir Ederken Tahrip Edenler. See, they are corrupting things while trying to fix them. They are harming the religion/din of Islam while trying to be helpful. That is why these books are conveying information against these corrupters and these wrongs. These books are conveying information in line with Ahlus-Sunnah wa’l-Jama’ah for you to be helpful. The matter through which we will be most beneficial to each other is scholarly matters, not obsessions. Ilm happens by acting in accordance with real âlim, not by ignorance. You may read a book you do not know about any other. One book does not contain everything. Let’s say you learned a few hadiths, but you do not know about many other hadiths. There are so many hadiths on that subject, and there are authentic or sahih hadiths. It is like you have adopted one of them from somewhere among your own sources, and you are shooting a dirty look to other sources. That is obsession. That is fanaticism. You should study all sources of hadiths. Mujtahids study those hadiths according to their places and times, and the conditions regarding which those hadiths have been uttered. Just like there are circumstances of revelation in regard to verses, there have emerged qawli, fa’ali, and taqriri sunnah hadiths according to the conditions those hadith-i sharifs are found in. Those who evaluate these are the mujtahids, not random ignorant people. That is why we should be brothers to each other and let us not go farther and fare worse. Let us not burn down the house we live in. Those corruptors who burn the house they are in, who cut the branch they are sitting on are harming Islam. Muslims are to guide/irshad each other through knowledge/ilm.

Time Stamp: 30:00

What is irshad? It happens through murshid. So, who is murshid? Murshid is an âlim, people benefit from their knowledge/ilm. A person does not become a murshid simply because he is called a murshid. Let’s say a person wrapped turban hard, and his jubbah is sweeping the floor. That is no murshid. Rather, a person who fills his turban with knowledge/ilm-irfan, who fills his jubbah with knowledge/ilm-irfan becomes a murshid. Some people look at appearance, and some are bone dry sophists. This does not happen without knowledge/ilm-irfan. Al-Quran Al-Karim is out in the open. The sunnah, our mujtahids, and real âlims are out in the open. Authentic sources are out there, there is no need to argue. Is it permissible/jaiz to hurt each other, or break each other’s hearts? It is not even permissible/jaiz to gossip about someone. You are to act with knowledge/ilm. And you need to research the entire literature, sources and documents of knowledge/ilm as you act with knowledge/ilm.

May Janâb-i Haqq grant success through tawfiq-i hidayat/successful guidance. May Janâb-i Haqq grant unity, solidarity, and brotherhood to the world. May Janâb-i Haqq make the peace, justice, and divine order predominant because all humanity is servants/qul of Allah. The universe belongs to Allah. Let us not corrupt or distort anything and try to be beneficial.
