Turkish English Tafsir Lesson 51-53

Al-Quran Al-Kareem – Tafsir (Exegesis) Lesson 51

In the name of Allah, the most gracious, the most Merciful. Let us talk about Uzair (a.s.) who was resurrected after one hundred years. Rather, let us convey some notes from the narrations (rivayat) on that qissa (fable). The most famous qissa (fable) is Uzair ibn Sehriyâ and the city of Jerusalem. The one who got resurrected is Uzair ibn Sehriyâ, and the town that is ruins which collapsed on its own roof is the city of Jerusalem. The city was ruined by Buhtnassar. He had slayed some of the Israelites. And he imprisoned some others. And some of them were driven towards Damascus. Uzair (a.s.) slipped through the prisoners and rode his donkey to Jerusalem. It is narrated that he said what he said upon seeing the city in ruins. People may say things like that sometime, by forgetting. In the end, we are all people. Then, a miracle occurred; salamat (salvation) is what waits for a patient and sad servant. You see, a Muslim shall trust in Allah and bow down to Allah at all costs. His hope in his Rabb (Lord) shall be at the utmost. He shall not be hopeless ever. Thus, Janâb-i Haqq gives the glad tiding. “Salamat (salvation) waits for a patient believer (mu’min) in the end,” said Allah. There are no quarters for hopelessness. Your end is salamat (salvation) when you stay under the command of Allah, and do not meddle with the rest. Do we have anywhere or anyone that we may take refuge other than Allah Ta’ala. We do not have anyone other than Allah. And Allah is al-Qadir (All-Powerful) for everything, and everything is predicated on hikmat (wisdom). You are already happy when you surrender to Allah. You are a martyr if you die, and a ghazi if you live. Allah is immanent in all aspects. Allah is ubiquitous, and free from time, space, and place. Allah is closer to you with Allah’s rahmat (mercy) than yourself. Allah is closer to you than yourself with the knowledge (ilm) and guidance (hidayat) of Allah. Allah’s a’zamat and qudrat (infinite grandeur and power) have encompassed all things. Allah’s rahmat (mercy) has encompassed everything. There is no end to Allah’s rahmat (mercy). Consider a person who has believed in such a Being, who is under the protection of that Being. There is an eternal happiness, and an eternal salvation for a person who is under the protection of that Being. There is no need for panic either. Now, following what happened, after 70 years, The Persian King of Kings, named Yûşek had conquered Jerusalem and had it rebuilt. You see, after it was rebuilt, Uzair who had been staying dead for one hundred years were resurrected by Allah. In the 33rd verse of Surah Luqman: “Fear Allah, and fear the Day when no father shall avail aught for his son, and no son shall avail aught for his father. The promise of Allah is true (haqq). May the worldly (befooling) life or the gharur shaitan not deceive you.” The world may deceive you, and the shaitan that is gharur, who deceived himself may deceive you. May he not deceive you. The shaitan makes you commit sins by saying that Allah (c.c.) will forgive.

Time Stamp: 5:01

He wants to deceive you and deviate you with Allah. He may drive you away from the religion (din) and belief (iman). He may turn you into a faithless, saying Allah will forgive you. He wishes to do all types of evil, and by saying what? He makes you do these by saying Allah will forgive you. He turns you into an infidel, a polytheist (mushrik), or a zâni (who commits extramarital affairs). He makes you steal. He makes you siphon off the banks. He makes you steal the rights of the orphans and the entire nation. That is, the world’s and the gharur shaitan’s deceiving the humans. Gharur means he who is deceived often and who deceives often. He has deceived himself from the start, objected to the command of Allah. On that day when he refused to prostrate (sajdah). He has lost, and deceived himself since the day he refused the divine order and the laws of caliphate (successorship). He has been deceiving others ever since. He had not confessed his guilt no matter what. He continues his enmity towards sons of Adam. This enmity is against the caliphate (successorship). That is, the Shaitan does not want the rulership of Allah and the laws of Allah to be implemented on earth. Moreover, in the 110th verse of Surah Yusuf: [12:110] “Our punishment cannot be averted from the guilty lot.” Moreover, in the 4th verse of Surah Hûd: [11:4] “Your return is only to Allah.” And let us see what Allah said in Surah az-Zumar: [39:53] “lā taqnaṭū min raḥmati llāhi”. [39:53] “Do not abandon hope from the rahmat (mercy) of Allah,”. One cannot abandon hope from the rahmat (mercy) of Allah, but he cannot be sure he will not be punished either. Also, in the 87th verse of Surah Yusuf: [12:87] “Only the disbelievers (kāfirs) lose hope in Allah’s rahmat (mercy).” A Muslim does not lose hope from Allah, but he cannot say he is completely safe from the punishment of Allah either. Betâet / بطائت is the name for staying dead and still for one hundred years. Betâet / بطائت is the name for that. Al-Qadir (All-Powerful), the Power of the Creator, and the Absolute Being. Allah is known by belief (iman), but you cannot afford seeing all. No one can afford. Can a mere human afford seeing the entirety of Allah? But one may know Allah via belief (iman). Al-Qadir (All-Powerful), the Creative Power, and Absolute Being, may be known via belief (iman). Yet, you cannot afford seeing all. “He said that due to his curiosity, and that he wished to learn.” In other words, Ibrahim Alaihissalam wanted see how Allah gave life to the dead is due to his curiosity. That is, in order to learn. Otherwise, he is a complete believer, and a complete Muslim. Ibrahim (a.s.) did not have second thoughts in his belief (iman), that is out of the question. Maqam-i Hullet is the place of love and friendship. Maqam-i Hullet is the place of love and friendship. Ibrahim (a.s.) slaughtered a peacock, rooster, crow, pigeon, or a falcon, and intermingled their meat and left one piece in every hill. He even intermingles the feathers. He took their heads in his hands. And he left a piece on every hill. He saw their flesh, blood, and feathers fly between the hills. The flesh and the feathers started flying, and they were all resurrected perfectly, and then they flew towards Ibrahim.

Time Stamp: 10:11

Ibrahim (a.s.) clearly saw how Allah gave life to the dead. What we see here is the secrets of yaqeen (certainty). That is, bound with the kun (كن) order. Allah says kun (كن) when Allah wants something to be. Allah says, “Be!” and it is. That is because Allah is the Creator, the Authority, and the All-Powerful. This universe, and all beings were created with the kun (كن) order of Allah. You may look at the ‚alam al anfus (the spiritual realm). Then, have a look at the ‚alam al afaq (the physical realm). See how perfectly they were created. Analysis, test, compound, syntheses; each remembrance is a resurrecting. Life of a human is renewed with each breath. The kursī (throne) of the nafs (self) is the heart and the brain. Now, in the 67th verse of Surah az-Zumar, Allah Ta’ala said: “They could not know Allah duly. On the Day of Qiyamah, the earth is completely in the qabḍa-i qudrat (hand, power), and tasarruf (disposal) of Allah. The heavens are rolled up in Allah’s hand. [39:67] “subḥānahū wa-taʿālā ʿammā yushrikūn”. The heavens are rolled up by the hand of Allah. All worlds are completely null and void in the qudrat hand of Allah. “That is, against the qudrat (power) of Allah, all the worlds are not even a handful.” The qudrat (power) and a’zamat (grandness) of Allah is endless and boundless. “Allah-ül Muhyi.” Allah is the life-giver. What do you say about that Nimrod’s fire turning into a gulistan? Allah has created a life in fire as well. What did Allah say to the fire? Allah gave the order, and it is Allah who created it. “O, fire! Stop being fire, and do not burn Ibrahim (Abraham),” said Allah. Upon that the fire became cold, like ice. It was as if the fire had turned into a gulistan (rose garden). “Surâka-i Afâk” means the partners of the horizons. That is, polytheism. “Surâka-i Afâk” means the partners of the horizons, which is polytheism. Belief (iman) is the master of the mind (aql). The afterlife (ākhira) is the world of results. Let us have a look at the 245th and 254th verses of Surah al-Baqarah. Shortage and manifoldness, all are given by Allah. Allah gives shortage and manifoldness. Spend before that Day comes. Spend in the way of Allah, that the thawāb (reward) pan of the scale may be full in the Great Gathering (Mahshar). And may its sin pan be empty. Use your mind, and spend as Allah gives you, in the way of Allah. If you do, you will earn a lot, and never lose. If you do not earn in the way of Allah, in the halal (lawful) way, if you do not spend in that way, and if you spend it in wrong ways, then you will end up in Fire. You would be ruining yourself, and the thawāb (reward) pan of the scale will be empty. Four people had ruled the world. These objects lessons from Janâb-i Haqq so that we may learn. Two of these were believers (mu’mins), and the other two were disbelievers (kāfirs) The believers (mu’mins) were Sulaiman (a.s.) and Dhu al-Qarnayn (a.s.). The disbelievers (kāfirs) were Nimrod and Buhtu Nasr.

Time Stamp: 15:06

This is a narration (rivayat) from Mucâhid, in other words, this is a rivayat from our Prophet. However, the complete dominance of the world, until Qiyamah, belongs to Islam, Muhammad, and the ummah (nation) of Muhammad. That is, the ones who founded the Universal State is Muslims. None could establish such a Universal State other than Muslims. Muslims had founded an unprecedented Universal State in the history. Muslims had given liberty to all nations. Muslims did not demolish temples of anyone. They did not touch their synagogues or churches. And Islam had established its own dominance and justice, and manifested them. And right now, since the last century we see a depression. That is because the humanity is looking for Islam for the moment. People are looking for the mercy, social justice, of Islam. People are looking for the order of Islam which is the endless and boundless rahmat (mercy) of Allah. People are looking for the sovereignty of Allah. Insha ’Allah in the earliest time, when the humanity finds and understands this, the entire humanity will reunite in the true (haqq) order. That is the rulership of Allah, which is the predominance of Islam in the universe. Peace and fellowship shall be established in all hearts and souls. The saleh (pious) servants (qul) who accept the order of Allah are the successors of Allah on earth until Qiyamah. That is why we have to pay attention to this. Nimrod and Buhtu Nasr had found a powerful state in the world. You see, two of them were Muslims, and the other two were disbelievers (kāfirs.). And then, the world domination belongs to the Muslims until Qiyamah. That is, the happiness and prosperity of all people. The entirety of the population of the world is the ummat (nation) of Prophet Muhammad. You see, the duty of the entirety of this ummah (nation) is to establish the order, sovereignty, and rulership of Allah. What is meant here is the predomination of science, justice, belief (iman), knowledge (ilm) and wisdom (irfan), and wahy-i ilahi (divine revelation) in the world. That is not the domination of a few bullies. Make production in accord with the order of hikmat. This is important. Make production in accord with the order of hikmat. That is, a gain of at least one to seven hundred and more. That is, production by preserving the hikmat order, the innate nature (fitrah) of things, and ecosystem. That is, production by abiding by the principles of justice, and following your duties both in spiritual and physical world. That is, production in the light of beneficial science, and wahy (revelation). So, if you abide by the principles of justice by supporting science, then you will get a beneficial production. You cannot practice science by altering the chemistry of the foods and drinks. You cannot do science by harming the humanity. True science saves you from loss and harm. Do you think you can spoil the foods, drinks, the ecosystem, and the chemistry of the beautiful blessings (nimet) Janâb-i Haqq created, and call that science? Science does what is beneficial, and it means faida (benefit).

Time Stamp: 20:03

You distort the souls, and minds. You distort the nature, and pollute the air, causing meat and milk to lose their natural properties. You disrupt the chemistry of the vegetables and fruits, leaving them inedible. You do this only to make more profit. And then you call that science. That is not science but havoc. Science is faida (benefit), works for the benefit of the humanity. No matter where you see something wrong, correct it via science. Implement the divine justice on earth via aql-e-saleem (pure intellect), under the light of wahy (revelation). You see, that is what we call working for the benefit of the humanity. The master of humans is he/she who works for the benefit of the humanity. As for those who work to harm the humanity, they are the wrongdoers, fāsiqs, and faajirs. If they do not believe, then they are kāfir (disbeliever) of the facts. If a person looks like a Muslim, but his inner world is rotten, then he is a hypocrite (munafiq). Those who acknowledge others as god instead of the sovereignty of Allah they are polytheists (mushrikun) one by one. They are servants of the taghuts (false gods). Now, there is the law of enhancement in Islam, but the production has to be based on hikmat (wisdom). That is, producing according to the order of hikmat (wisdom), without damaging the ecosystem. The law of manifold. Janâb-i Haqq multiples the produce, increasing its quantity by giving one to seven hundred. One grain produces seven ears. And seven ears contain seven hundred grains. Make production without altering the innate nature (fitrat) and the chemistry of the crop, in accordance with the laws of creation. That is what we call production according to hikmat (wisdom). You may obtain two thousand units from a single unit. You may even produce more than that. That is bound to your effort that is based on hikmat (wisdom). In other words, it has been observed that you may get not only one to one or one to seven hundred, but also one to two thousand. These have been tested and observed. Two thousand or more produce may be obtained from a single grain by obtaining the wheatgrass that sprouts from a single grain after it divaricates, and planting them as seeds one by one. I am only giving a single example here, do not forget. This is not an exaggeration. We are not exaggerating this. The laws of life operate with the principle of doubling over and over. Especially what you spend for mujahids shall return to you as reward in manifold. “Wallahu wasiun aleem,” what does Almighty Allah say here? Another name of Allah is al-Wāsi. That is, Allah expands (produce) in manifold, and the rahmat (mercy) of Allah is vast. Allah bestows upon whom Allah wants abundantly. Allah gives (produce) to him whom Allah wants in manifold. And Allah may give trouble to whom Allah wishes, that is up to Allah. Allah knows everything properly, and does not have flaws or faults. Flaws and faults are only for us. Surah az-Zumar, 10th verse: [39:10] “There is goodness for those who do good. Allah’s earth is vast. Only, there is limitless reward for the steadfast.” The strength of patience is in proportion with the strength of belief (iman). Patience is powerful if the belief (iman) is powerful. If a person’s knowledge (ilm) is true, then his belief (iman) is true. If a person has known Al-Quran Al-Karim correctly, and properly acquired the creed of ahlus-sunnah, knowledge (ilm), and kalam (utterance) from those who know these well, then a powerful belief (iman) may occur in he who has firm knowledge. And from a firm belief (iman) occurs a firm and powerful patience, which is a grace of Allah.

–          The End        –

Al-Quran Al-Kareem – Tafsir (Exegesis) Lesson 52

I seek shelter in Allah from the rejected Satan.  In the name of Allah, the most gracious, the most Merciful.

We continue the topics from where we left off with our 52nd lesson. These are life lessons through which we shall find life. The life-giver is the way-i ilahi (divine revelation) that come from Allah. And we shall certainly be among those who found life by permission of Allah when we study the lessons of wahy-i ilahi (divine revelation) well enough, and when we guide ourselves to the right way via it. We shall attain the immortal life, and that happens by Allah’s favor. All things are subject to death or ephemeral except Allah. And Allah bestows upon us the immortal life as a favor, due to Allah’s generosity, for Allah is al-Bāqī (The Infinite).

Now, let us continue with our current topic. Our current topic is minnat, so what does it mean? It has the meaning, ‘to be pleased’ but it also means ‘to blame, to reproach’. It denotes reproach after doing a favor, and mentioning it all the time. There is also, eza which means ‘to spit on an act of charity’. Or rather, it means ‘to blame’, ‘to hurt,’ ‘to disgust’. And minnat is to put up with all this. Also, thankfulness (minnatdar) derives from this. Now, the rewards (thawābs) are bound by intention. Al-Khalq (Creator) knows even if the makhluq (creature) does not know, and it is important to remember this.

That is, do not ever reproach someone after helping them. Do not ever try to blame or hurt people due to an act of charity you did for them. Good things are done only for Allah. The one who does the charity should forget it. A favor, kindness, or charity are only done in the name of Allah. And forget it if someone did you wrong, for the nafs (self) may commit various crimes. That is a warning to your nafs (self), for all evil occur due to a crime committed by the nafs (self). Mischief or evil acts are come from the nafs (self) of the person.

In the Expedition of Tabuk, Uthman gave one thousand camels, and he gave everything he had, including the last piece of wood or rag he had. He also gave our Prophet one thousand dinars. Also, ‚Abd al-Rahman ibn ‚Awf gave four thousand to sadaqah (charity).

Allah gives a chance to repent by Allah’s knowledge (ilm), and does not rush. And why does Janâb-i Haqq give blessings (nimet) to the servants (qul)? That is to test the servant (qul), in order to see where the servant (qul) will use what is given by Allah.

So, we look at Abu Bakr (r.a.), and then we look at Uthman, and then we look at the others, only to see that they had spent what Allah gave them in the way of Allah. We see that they are all in a contest to spend in the way of iʻlā‐i kalimatullah (to exalt the religion of Allah).

Time Stamp: 5:29

Janâb-i Haqq, by Allah’s knowledge (ilm), gives people a chance to repent. People commit many sins, and they rebel. Janâb-i Haqq does not sentence them right away. Janâb-i Haqq does not rush, but give them a chance to repent. Allah wants them to regret, repent, and be saved. That is why Allah does not rush in punishment.

We will talk about Islam, the Dar al-Islam (Homeland of Islam), Islamic life-style, belief (iman), amel-i salehs (good deeds), Janna (Paradise) and its contents; and polytheism (shirk), disbelief (kufr), nifaq, riya (two facedness), being a venial sinner (fāsiq), unwariness, Blaze of Fire, Blazing Inferno. These things ruin the worldly life and the afterlife of a person, and he/she will end up in Jahannam (Hell).

Hence, the Dar al-Islam (Homeland of Islam), is the place where Islam is lived. If people in a location live Islam from a to z, then that location is Dar al-Islam (Homeland of Islam). Janna (Paradise) is built as a result of an Islamic life-style. That is, if people live with belief (iman) and amel-i salehs (good deeds). On the contrary, things like polytheism (shirk), disbelief (kufr), nifaq, riya (two facedness), and unwariness are life a blazing inferno, which burns both the worldly life and the afterlife of a person, the result of it is Jahannam (Hell).

If someone has polytheism (shirk), disbelief (kufr), nifaq, venial sinning (fāsiq), and he became unwary of Haqq (truth) completely, then in return there is nothing other than Jahannam (Hell). That is why Janâb-i Haqq does not rush, to give respite to people, that they may abandon polytheism (shirk) and come to tawhid (monotheism), that they may abandon disbelief (kufr), and come to tasdiq and iqrar (affirming and declaring faith), that they may come to ikhlas (sincerity), that they may abandon nifaq and come to the straight path, that they may come to true belief (iman), that they may abandon riya (two-facedness) and come to ikhlas (sincerity), that they may abandon venial sinning (fāsiq), that they may obey, abandon unwariness, and be guided to the right path by the knowledge (ilm) of the life-giving Quran, and that they may become conscious. You see, Allah does not rush to sentence them so that they may learn from the life-giving Quran. And of course, those who take their lesson are the ones who truly repent and ask for forgiveness. That is why, it is said that conceal your acts of charity and favor, and announce if someone does a favor to you. But conceal the ones you do, and announce the good acts and favors done to you. That is, when someone does a favor to you and you announce it to the public, you would be thanking him and prompting the humanity to do charity. However, never forget that the favor that came to you, the blessing (nimet), and the cause of it are all created by Allah. So do not forget that the owner and creator of every blessing (nimet) is no one but Allah. You see the one who brings the favor to you, just like that you should look to the One who created it, and sent it to you.

Time Stamp: 10:12

For it is Allah Ta’ala who sends all blessings (nimet) to you by means of someone. Do not forget! And give as best as you can, for you spend in the way of Allah. Give generously, for the riza (approval) of Allah is above all things! That is why give what you give in a way that suits the glory, and riza (approval) of Allah, but do not exceed what you can afford. Give the best of what you can afford, and act according to your means. But do not give what is rotten and useless. If you do, then how you knew Allah, how you wanted to earn Allah’s riza (approval), and all the infirmities and ignorance in your belief will come in sight. And when you do not give when you can afford, know that stinginess draws you away from Allah. Stinginess not just be in the ignorant folk, but the âlims (Islamic scholars), abids (devouts), zahids (ascetics) too. They also draw away from Allah if they are stingy. The generous people are the ones closer to Allah, do not forget that.

“The labourer should know the value of the funds.” You see, a lesson to the laborers and workers are given here. It is said that they should know the value of the funds, and do not be an enemy of the capital. Let us see what is said here: “O employers! You have to know the value of the worker! You have to know the value of labour,” he says. The religion of Islam is the religion of life, labour, and the capital. Islam wants all these to run by the complete divine justice. Islam does not let anyone be unfair to the workers and the rights of the laborers, nor lets anyone waste the capital or betray it. The employers must know the value of the worker. In the end, the capital is procured by labour. Be utmost attention to the fights between labour and the capital.

So, why does a fight between labour and capital occur? Now, what is in the basis of today’s totalitarian regimes, mostly in the Karl Marx’s system, and the system of the revolutionary socialists? That would be enmity towards the capital. So, what is in the basis of the capitalist and liberalists systems that lack justice and balance? In those systems the capital is held by a few capital owners, and they wish to make people slaves and servants. That is why we say the glorious Islam has established the balance between labour and the capital. The life-giving and enlightening Islam has put forth a complete justice system. There is neither enmity of capital nor enmity of labour. It is Prophet Muhammad (asw) who said, “Pay the worker his dues before his sweat has dried up”. And he also told the worker to do his job correctly, and earn his pay in a halal (lawful) way. Thus, we see that he did not allow enmity of capital. It does not matter which side is unjust, Islam does not allow it.

Time Stamp: 15:10

What happened then? Those enemies of capital toppled it down and then used the workers, only to paralyze the entire population. In the end, the system became paralyzed and came down. A paralyzed society cannot stand upright. So, what did the others, who supported the capital but stood against labour, the rights of the laborers and workers, the enemies of the worker do? They made the rich get richer, and the poor get poorer. And this time depressions occurred. You see, against the totalitarian systems that paralyze the population with depression systems, there is the just order of Allah that does not let anyone be unjust to the other. Islam does not waste anyone’s right. That is why where the divine justice is not present you see people showing favouritism, pulling strings to get preferential treatment. One party sides with the capital and the other party sides with the labourer, and the disorder never ends. And due to this disorder mafias will rise. And a part of these mafias will retreat into underground. What about the others? Other illegal organisations will rise and distort the peace.

In the divine order, Janâb-i Haqq invests in the hearts and souls first. And what is the investment of the hearts? That would belief (iman), and obedience to Allah. The foundations are laid by respect and love to Allah. A true belief (iman), a correct education and teaching. Do you know what is be left behind when you take people’s belief (iman) away and if you remove the divine rules?

People will start following philosophers or others, saying they say this or that. People will start arming themselves in the end. No one may restrain the consciences, no one may restrain the nafs’ (selves). You cannot restrain the Iblis’s (devils). National security is actually what is within people. As for security, there is security where belief (iman) is present. Those who do not know Allah, who do not consider halal (lawful) and haram (sinful) will do whatever they want and what is in their interest. People’s enjoyments are as much diverse as the number of the living people, and what ensures the safety of all of them is foremost the belief (iman) in the hearts, and true akhlaq (moral values).

Who will you bring forth as divinity after you destroy the true faith? How many gods will you fabricate? Will you be able to fool people with the false gods you made? Will that faith be the true faith? Will those false gods be of any use other than disbelief (kufr)?

And there is no other divinity except Allah. That is why, in today’s world, something that causes the decay of the humanity from inside is that the true moral understanding and its foundation could not be established. The reason for the decay is that people did not attach importance to the religion (din), Allah, and the principles of Allah. That is why the humanity is rotting deep down inside. Some people become the servant (qul) of their own nafs (self), others become servants (qul) of capital, and some others worship their rank or chair. People are going after ideologies and as long as all of those ideologies are for the benefit of the humanity, we will see mafias rise, for all these ideologies are against one another.

Time Stamp: 20:15

The universal spirit that works for the benefit of all people is the spirit of Islam, which is divine. Islam is the divine system that Prophet Muhammad implemented, and it is the system that embrace all people. It is just that Islam did what is necessary to the tyrants. And the right to life and safety will be gone if you do not do what is necessary against the tyrants, imposers, and the unjust. In that case, there will be no national security. National security is not only established by force of arms. Let us say that the man you trained and armed did something wrong. As long as that man has a mindset that does not contemplate for the better good of the humanity, the universal spirit, and the truth, it does not matter if you arm him or not, where will you use that weapon anyway? In such an event the first thing that man will do is to hold the gun to his father’s head. If you give weapons to the evil people, crazy people, disbelieving people, or those who do not know the value of life, they will rain down bombs from the sky and kill people in masses. This is much worse than what the monsters do, right?

Now, what does Al-Quran Al-Karim, Bible, and Torah say? “Killing a person is like killing the mankind,” they say. “Saving a life is like saving all people,” they say. Do you think you can ignore Allah Ta’ala, and the commands of Allah? Do you think you can speak of a belief (iman) without Allah, Quran, and the Prophet? Do you think you can bring forth a fabricated religion without these?

Do you think you can restrain the hearts with them? Those who bring forth this idea can only fool themselves. The sultanate of the nafs (self), every nafs (self) lash into a fury when they do not know Allah, and they become a pharaoh. Then, the battle of pharaohs begins. You will see each and every nafs (self) declare themselves as gods, which bring about the battle of gods.

There are no other gods. This tawhid iman (monotheistic belief) came with Al-Quran Al-Karim and Islam. All prophets, and the last Prophet who is the prophet of mercy came to establish this tawhid iman (monotheistic belief) in these worlds. Allah’s oneness will become firm in the hearts of all people, and we shall all know that we are servants (qul) of Allah, who is One in all aspects. Our creator is One. Our father is Adam, and our mother is Hawwa (Eve), and as we are their children, we have the same belief and pleasure, all nations will unite. Islam considers all souls essential, and incorporates all souls, all consciences, and all minds in one place. The unity, integrity, peace and prosperity of the humanity lies in “la ilahe illallah, Muhammedün resulullah,”. This must be established, for this is the haqq and haqiqa (truth). This is the belief (iman) of Isa (Jesus), Musa (Moses), Ibrahim (Abraham), Nuh (Noah), and Prophet Muhammad Alaihimusselam. May Allah greet them one by one, for they are all excellent. Their beliefs (imans) were nothing other than a complete tawhid iman (monotheistic belief).

Time Stamp: 25:10

Does anyone have a right to divine the nation, and tear people to pieces by inventing many gods, and causing a battle of gods, a battle of nafs’ (selves), or a battle of pharaohs? The tyranny of the wrongdoers (zalimun) will increase if you sit there and cry. Do you know what the wrongdoers (zalimun) understand? They understand when they are struck by the divine power and divine justice. An intimidating force, which is the power of justice shall breathe on the neck of the wrongdoer (zalim); just like the sword of the headsman.

People must be at the ready against all wrongdoers (zalimun) with an intimidating force, and they shall not give an opportunity to the wrongdoers (zalimun), polytheism (shirk), or the pharaohs. This force shall work for the benefit of the humanity. All people are servants (qul) of Allah. This duty befalls on Muslims foremost, for the light of the Quran, and the truth of Islam shines through the heart and the brain of Muslims.

It is with this enlightenment, mercy, and justice that Muslims shall work for the better good of the humanity, via this divine rahmat (mercy) that do not fade. The duty to establish the sovereignty of Allah, to say ‘stop’ to the imposers, and work for the manifestation of the divine justice belongs to the Muslims at first.

Those who give rotten, spoiled, and filthy things to charity, may think they are spending in the way of Allah, but these people could not understand Allah’s Mighty. These people could not understand their own value either. A martyr is he who gives his life in the right path. And he wants to be a martyr in the right path over and over again, while the other man tries to give away rubbish things, rotten food, and torn apparels to the poor and the needy. There is no such understanding of Islam. Islam is lofty, and exalted. Muslims are the man of these most exalted thoughts and values. Aren’t we all guilty here? Islam is perfect, but where is the Islamic education? Where may one find the utmost Islamic irshad (guidance)? Where can you find the lessons of the life-giving Islam? In this day, everyone is enlisted to a school, but don’t we need to study in the school of Allah? You see, Islam is the school that Allah established. If you graduate from Islam, you will have graduated from the university of the ninth heaven (arş-ı âlâ).  For Al-Quran Al-Karim came from al-Lawh al-Mahfuz (the Sacred Tablet) and arş-ı âlâ (the ninth heaven). Islam is founded and brought forth by Allah. The Islamic sharīʿah (law) is the decrees (hukm) of Allah Ta’ala who is Sharī. Someone else cannot make a low. There is no second god. The sharīʿah (law) belongs to Sharī (Law-Maker) Allah Ta’ala. That is, the decrees (hukm), and laws of Islam are made by Allah. Our duty is to discover and understand these well. The greatest duty falls on the mujtahids in all ages, until the Last Day (Qiyamah). The humanity should unite all scientists, and true people of science, along with the discoverers who discover the laws and the Book of Almighty Allah, and the entirety of the mujtahid’s who know Islamic law. In all ages, this is where humanity should unite. This is the junction, place of gathering. The entirety of science unites in Islam. The aql (intellect), and aql-e-saleem (pure intellects) unite in Islam. The tawhid (monotheism) in people’s hearts shall unite, and this unity shall be for the better good of all people.

Time Stamp: 30:09

This is because when all scientists have a voice, then the true âlims of the age who know Islamic law and methodology well will come together, and all other scientists of the world will also come, and what will they do together? A decision will be made, and this decision given by uniting all consciences, hearts, and aql-e-saleem (pure intellects), and this decision is for the better good of the humanity; it must be. This universal spirit that embrace all people is the spirit of Quran and Islam. This is the spirit of Prophet Muhammad.

So, why is there tyranny where there is justice? Who is giving the tyrants the chance? Why are they allowing tyranny while there is goodness? If you do not give a voice to the scientists and the mujtahids, the zalimun (wrongdoers), tyrants, and despots will rule, following which separation, illegal organisations, and mafias will thrive; after that will have a chance to block the terror?

It is you who generates terror, all the while saying you’re fighting it. Even the crows would laugh that one. And, this is like when the crows eat a carcass and try to clean its beak afterwards. It thinks it has cleaned its mouth, but it just ate tons of microbes by eating from a carcass. They do not accept the truth. At first, we need to unite the world in haqq (truth) by uniting all Islamic mujtahids and all the scientists in the world in order to establish divine justice in a scientific way. We do not need polarization.

Peace of the world may be established once people unite in haqq and haqiqa (truth). Allah’s blessing (nimet) is more than enough for the Westerners and the Easterners. However, if you stock the blessings (nimet) in the warehouses of the rich folk, and force others to hardship in finding daily bread, and if you drop bombs upon one side, then clearly you are generating terror.

Best of each produce should be given to the needy in the way of Allah. This is a commandment of Islam. Islam is a complete mercy, and a complete social justice. Leaving people thirsty and hungry is not valid in the conscience of Islam. It is Prophet Muhammad who said, “He is not a believer whose stomach is filled while his neighbour goes hungry,”. He said, “He who sleeps while his stomach is filled while his neighbour goes hungry is not among us,”. We clearly see that Islam is a universal compassion. Islam is a universal rahmat (mercy). Islam is a universal knowledge (ilm), haqiqa (truth), and it is social justice. Those who consider Islam otherwise do not know Quran. Islam is against the tyrants, and tyranny (zulm). Islam is against disbelief (kufr), and taghuts (false gods) for these endeavour to harm humanity. They endeavour to perish the humanity. Allah Ta’ala does not ever accept disbelief (kufr), polytheism (shirk), or nifaq. Allah gives the greatest punishment for these, and it is clear that this is why Allah created Jahannam (Hell). You see, one side accepts the haqiqa (truth), and the other does not. And what occurs when they deny Allah? If you denied, no one can say anything to you, but you do not have the right to oppress people or block justice. And if disbelief (kufr) wants to impose its power, belief (iman) shall oppose it and say, “What I say shall happen,”.

Time Stamp: 35:14

You see, there are two poles in the world, the pole of belief (iman), and the pole of disbelief (kufr). There are those who accept Allah and the principles of Allah, and those who do not. This is the current situation, and the problem, which is actually quite easy to solve. Let me explain. The imans (beliefs) that work for the better good of the humanity should unite, and after this disbelief (kufr) may do whatever it wants in its own environment, but it will not be allowed to harm the humanity, which is the point.

The following is a narration (rivayat) from Ibn Abbas (r.a.). “The rich obey to Allah first, and then shaitan (devil) will visit him, destroying all his amels (deeds).” But when does that happen? You see, he obeys Allah first, and then obeys shaitan (devil). And it does not matter if a person is rich or poor either, he has to obey Allah and reject evil powers and the shaitan (devil).

“You shall cry for your thawābs (rewards) after you die,” he says. It is Hasan al-Basri who said that, for people look for thawābs (rewards) after they die. They start begging thawāb (reward) left and right, but why? They endeavour to do this so that their thawābs (rewards) may be on the heavier side of the scale (mizân), and that their sins may be on the lighter.

If you want to enhance your thawābs (rewards) today means you should work for the better good of the humanity in compliance with the riza (approval) of Allah. As for harming, we clearly know that harmful things are sins. The beneficial things are the ones that bring you thawābs (rewards). M’arifat is doing benevolent deeds (amel), contest in goodness, and spending your life in the way of good.

That is why, dearest friends! In the narration (rivayat) of Bukhari Shareef, it is said that he who pardoned the debt of the one who is in hardship is forgiven. Now, let us say someone borrowed money from you, and he is having a hard time. He is sincere, and if he had money, he would surely pay you. It is said that if you pardon him/her, and donate what he owed you, then you will attain the forgiveness of Allah. That is why Islam is the religion of constant mercy and generosity. Islam does not hurt anyone, not even slightly, and it should not. It is just that the truths should be told without hesitation. Those who are not brave enough to speak the truth are left to the hands of the brave wrongs (batil). What do you think will happen when the wrongdoers (zalimun) are braver than you, when disbelief (kufr) acts braver than belief (iman)? They will be thrown into dungeons, and be prisoners. The facts and haqiqa (truth) must always be braver. The people of the truth (ahlul haqq) will suffer greatly if the truth (haqq) is not braver than wrong (batil).

[2:267] “yā-ʾayyuhā lladhīna ʾāmanū ʾanfiqū min ṭayyibāti mā kasabtum wa-mimmā ʾakhrajnā lakum mina l-ʾarḍi wa-lā tayammamū l-khabītha minhu tunfiqūna wa-lastum bi-ʾākhidhīhi ʾillā ʾan tughmiḍū fīhi wa-ʿlamū ʾanna llāha ghaniyyun ḥamīd”.

“O, believers!” says Janâb-i Haqq. “Donate from the best of what you have earned, and of what We produced for you,”. In other words, do charity in a clean and pure manner. You cannot do charity using what is haram (sinful), and worthless. “Do not try to give the unpleasant things which you would not take it for yourself. And know that Allah does not need your sadaqa (donation), and Allah is worthy of all praise.”

Now, the thawāb (reward) of the sadaqa (donation) you have given benefits you in the world and in the afterlife (ākhira). The charity you do is only for you. Allah does not need it, but you have duties as a servant (qul), so perform them correctly. Do not ever try to give rotten or ripped things to charity, says Janâb-i Haqq.

Moreover, Janâb-i Haqq says: [2:268] “ash-shayṭānu yaʿidukumu l-faqra wa-yaʾmurukum bi-l-faḥshāʾi wa-llāhu yaʿidukum maghfiratan minhu wa-faḍlan wa-llāhu wāsiʿun ʿalīm”.

This is actually quite important! You should know who whispers to your heart well. Now, Janâb-i Haqq says, “The shaitan (devil) frightens you with poverty and promotes you to commit obscenity and evil things.” So, if waswas (whispers) come to your heart, bidding you things that do not suit the command of Allah, then do not ever confuse it with ilham (inspiration), and be careful. You see, if something in your hearts bids you evil things, blocking your generosity and prompting you to be a penny-pitcher, or if you feel similar things, then know that these are satanic whisperings. And know that the shaitan (devil) prompts you to evil. The shaitan (devil) may speak of the favor and the forgiveness of Allah, and give you certain promises. “And Allah is All-Embracing, and All-Knowing.”

Ilham (inspirations) may come to your heart, which suit the commands of Al-Quran Al-Karim and the sharīʿah (law). That may be an angel speaking with your heart, preaching it, and ilhams (inspirations) may come to you directly. Hawatir al-Haqq may come. And that may come to you via a concealed path, but know that it comes from Allah. As for Quran, it openly addresses your heart, telling it the truth. You see, one comes via a concealed path, and the other comes openly, filling your heart to the brim. The knowledge (ilm) boils over, and starts pouring down from the ocean of Quran, into the hearts. That is, what comes from Allah, the haqiqa (truths), and enlightenment (feyiz). Now, there is also the waswas (whispering) of the shaitan (devil), which you should beware. That is why Allah is All-Beneficent, and All-Knowing. Janâb-i Haqq promises forgiveness, favor, and generosity. Have a look at the promises of Allah, and the waswas (whispering) of the shaitan, and compare!

Moreover, Janâb-i Haqq said: [2:269] “yuʾtī l-ḥikmata man yashāʾu wa-man yuʾta l-ḥikmata fa-qad ʾūtiya khayran kathīran wa-mā yadhdhakkaru ʾillā ʾulū l-ʾalbāb”. [2:270] “wa-mā ʾanfaqtum min nafaqatin ʾaw nadhartum min nadhrin fa-ʾinna llāha yaʿlamuhū wa-mā li-ẓ-ẓālimīna min ʾanṣār”.

My dearest friend! Beware! It is said that Janâb-i Haqq gives hikmat (wisdom) to whomsoever Janâb-i Haqq wants. Hikmat (wisdom) is a bestowment of haqq (truth) wrapped in goodness. We shall discover the word “hikmat” as well, insha’ Allah. Allah says: “Whoever is given hikmat (wisdom) is given a lot of good, and only the people with high intelligence may understand,”.

And in the latter verse: “Whatever type of nafaqa you have given, or whatever kind of vow you make, Allah surely knows it.” Besides, there cannot be anything that Allah does not know. “And the zalimun (wrongdoers) will not be helped by no means.”

Time Stamp: 45:35

Now: [2:271] “ʾin tubdū ṣ-ṣadaqāti fa-niʿimmā hiya wa-ʾin tukhfūhā wa-tuʾtūhā l-fuqarāʾa fa-huwa khayrun lakum wa-yukaffiru ʿankum min sayyiʾātikum wa-llāhu bi-mā taʿmalūna khabīr”.

Let us see what Janâb-i Haqq says in this exalted kalam (utterance). “If you give the sadaqa (charity) openly, that is excellent; but if you conceal them and then give to the poor, it is better for you, and this causes (Allah) to write-off many of your sins. Know that Allah knows whatsoever you do.”

Now, let us see the following verse: [2:272] “laysa ʿalayka hudāhum wa-lākinna llāha yahdī man yashāʾu wa-mā tunfiqū min khayrin fa-li-ʾanfusikum wa-mā tunfiqūna ʾillā btighāʾa wajhi llāhi wa-mā tunfiqū min khayrin yuwaffa ʾilaykum wa-ʾantum lā tuẓlamūn”.

Janâb-i Haqq says the following in this glorious verse: “It is not your duty to bring them to the right path. Only Allah guides (hidayat) whomever Allah wants to the right path.”

So, what is the duty of the Prophet? That would be tabligh (to bid), which is our duty as well. Each good thing you do is only for you. And you do not spend except seeking the riza (approval) of Allah. Whatever good you spend shall return you exactly, and you shall not be wronged by no means.

[2:273] “li-l-fuqarāʾi lladhīna ʾuḥṣirū fī sabīli llāhi lā yastaṭīʿūna ḍarban fī l-ʾarḍi yaḥsabuhumu l-jāhilu ʾaghniyāʾa mina t-taʿaffufi taʿrifuhum bi-sīmāhum lā yasʾalūna n-nāsa ʾilḥāfan wa-mā tunfiqū min khayrin fa-ʾinna llāha bihī ʿalīm”. [2:274] “alladhīna yunfiqūna ʾamwālahum bi-l-layli wa-n-nahāri sirran wa-ʿalāniyatan fa-lahum ʾajruhum ʿinda rabbihim wa-lā khawfun ʿalayhim wa-lā hum yaḥzanūn”.

Let us see what Allah says in these enlightening verses: “Give your sadaqa (charity) to the poor who are devoted in Allah’s way.” One should give sadaqa (charity) to every poor, for they are all in need. So, you may donate to every poor person, but beware of the priority here. “Give to the poor who are devoted in Allah’s way.” So, who is foremost here? The mujahid in battle, and the true people of knowledge (ilm) who cannot be occupied with trade. These two come foremost. So, donate foremost to the mujahids and their families, and those who work to spread knowledge (ilm) to world who cannot be occupied with trade. After them, help all poor and needy people, but your first choice should be these two. “They are unable to roam around earth. Those who do not know may take them for rich due to their modesty.”

Time Stamp: 50:04

Besides, a mujahid who is in battlefield, or an honourable person of high moral values who is occupied with ilm (knowledge) cannot want anything from anyone, but he is still in need. Janâb-i Haqq tells us to find them, and tells us how to find them as well. [2:273] “But you will know them by their faces,” in other words, you will know them from their situation, and their appearance, for they are grand figures, and you will know by their faces that they have high morals. “They”, says Allah, “cannot ask from anyone importunately,” but they are in the need, so give them. “They cannot ask from anyone importunately. Whatever good you do is truly known by Allah, without a doubt.”

[2:274] “Aren’t there those who spend their wealth day and night, secretly and publicly, they have a reward with their Rabb (Lord). And there will be no fear for them, nor will they grieve ever.”

You see, the valuable figures who are faithful and generous receive a magnificent glad tiding here, “There will be no fear, no sadness, for them, nor will they ever grieve,” says Allah. There are tremendous glad tidings here! You spend one thing, but what does Allah do after that? Allah favours you, and rains down blessings (barakat) upon you thousands of times. Allah aids you greatly in your trade. And you will not even know from where all this barakat and rahmat (blessing) rains down upon you, your business goes so smooth that you do not know how that is happening. However, you feel by your belief (iman) that all these favours are from Allah, and you have to feel it. You certainly have to feel and know in your heart that these are from Allah. For all blessings (nimet) are given by Allah Ta’ala, and all favours are from Allah. A Muslim has surely believed in this wholeheartedly, with every fibre of his/her being. Besides, his/her belief (iman) would not be valid if he does not believe.

“O, you who is taken in by conceit! You do not know of quwwat (might)! Smashed shall be your brain by a smack of qudrat (power) in a day of joy.”

This aforementioned saying is said about those who do not know Haqq (truth), and those who got spoiled. May Janâb-i Mevlâ admit us among those who attain the rahmat (mercy) of Allah, not among those who are smacked.

Now, let us dwell on the discovery of these verses for a little bit. The word “hikmat” is mentioned in these verses of Quran. So, what is hikmat? Janâb-i Haqq said those who were given “hikmat” is given a lot of good in the 269th verse. Naturally, hikmat is given to Prophet Muhammad, and the other prophets. Those who have believed in this legacy of hikmat had become the heirs.

Now, Al-Quran Al-Karim, from start to finish, is a hikmat given by Allah. What is more, to think about genesis is hikmat. Al-Quran Al-Karim urges people to contemplate, to think. Those who understand Al-Quran Al-Karim well are the great mutafaqqirs (thinkers). That is, they travel a great distance in the way of being a true people of ilm (knowledge) and idea. One may contemplate about genesis via a pure intellect and pure heart. You see the contents of hikmat, there is contemplation, but a pure intellect and heart is necessary. A lot of people unable to have pure intellect, they are unable to have aql-e-saleem (pure intellect), but why?

Time Stamp: 55:15

The intellects captivated by the nafs (self) are considered “intellect of pharaoh” which is the intellect of people like Abū Jahl. The intellects under the influence of polytheism (shirk) are infected. They are not “pure intellect” but captives, and our elders used “aql-meash”. There is also pure intellect, which is called “aql-e-saleem”. According to a narration (rivayat), our Prophet called this aql-e-kamil (perfect intellect), and aql-e-maad (obedient intellect), which is the aql (intellect) that is under the command of Allah, and wahy-i ilahi (divine revelation). This aql (intellect) is under the command of belief (iman). That is not an aql (intellect) that is subject to polytheism (shirk) or disbelief (kufr).

We see here that the contents of hikmat brim over.

That is, by a pure intellect, and pure heart. What is? To think, contemplation, discussion should be done with a pure intellect and a pure heart. And some people deviate as they think, but why? That is because they are thinking about wrongs, in wrong environments; they search for the right in the wrongs. As for some, they advance in the right path as they think, and continue to put forward ideas, and they arrive at a discovery. These are the people to whom Allah bestowed hikmat (wisdom). You see, aql (intellect) and good choices are also contents of hikmat. Aql (intellect), good choices, using the free will (irada) in the right way, and using the liberty and freedom in the right way are also among the contents of hikmat (wisdom). These are also prequisites of hikmat (wisdom), for there is no hikmat (wisdom) without these. Hikmat is the manifestation of the Divine Will, as a blessing of Allah, and acquisition (kasb) of the servant (qul). You see, the servant (qul) acquires (qasb), and Allah creates (khalq). Hikmat occurs as a manifestation of the Divine Will, as a blessing of Allah, and it is the acquisition (kasb) of the servant (qul). You see, the servant (qul) acquires (qasb), and Allah creates (khalq).

The will of the servant (qul), and the lesser path for his/her connection. The essence of hikmat is, “wallahu wasiun aleem,”. So, what is the essence of hikmat? The will of the servant (qul), and the lesser path for his/her connection. Allah knows everything. And “wasiun aleem,” Allah’s is Oft-Merciful and All-Knowing. There is no end of Allah’s favor and knowledge (ilm).

And we see here an ihsan (favor) of Janâb-i Haqq. That is, hikmat (wisdom). The essence of hikmat (wisdom) is the ihsan (favor) of Allah. You may ask about ihsan now, it is the manifestation of divine favours given by Allah to you, which is a favor of Allah. Also, ihsan is your servitude to Allah as if you see Allah. You should try to never forget that Allah sees you, for this is where true ihsan (favor) and hikmat (wisdom) brims over. We see here that in the contents of hikmat (wisdom) there is ihsan (favor), and vice versa.

What is more, a firm decree (hukm) in bidding what is beneficial and expelling what is harmful is also hikmat. Hikmat is what is hidden in something, only to be revealed as the result. Cause and effect relation; doing everything by thinking about the consequences, without delving into it blindly is hikmat. In other words, we are advised to do everything by thinking about the consequences beforehand, rather than diving blindly.

Time Stamp: 1:00:00

A just and beneficial politics is also present in hikmat, for the religion of Islam is just and divine politics. Politics is for procuring what is most beneficial. There is also siyaset-ul zalime (filthy politics). They are filled to the brim with lies. These are melun (cursed) politics.

Moreover, it is also hikmat when words, actions and the heart find the truth precisely. In other words, it is hikmat to establish the complete truth by your actions, words, and feelings. “What is right in words and knowledge is also beneficial when it is applied.” The afore quote is a valuable report narrated by a venerable figure named Mucahit. What is right in words and knowledge is also good in action. In other words, if your word is haqq (true), and the knowledge you acquired is haqq ilm (true knowledge), beneficial and good things will happen when you apply them, he said. This is what we call hikmat (wisdom).

Hikmat: to know, and to do deeds with what you know is hikmat (wisdom). Also, the following are considered hikmat one by one: firm ilm (knowledge), good deeds, investigative science or rather true science, arbitrary acts of kindness, or rather doing the deeds that are haqq (true) and real, knowledge (ilm), free will (irada), co-operation, and association of art and science. These are considered hikmat one by one. The aforementioned description is narrations (rivayat) that came from Muqatil ibn Sulayman and Qutayba. Rahmatullahi alayhim ajmain.

Moreover, hikmat has the following meanings as well: knowledge (ilm), fiqh (jurisprudence), deep knowledge, benevolent work, comprehension of the goal and object; these are considered hikmat one by one. We see here that the reach of hikmat (wisdom) is indeed vast.

This is a hadith-i sharif: “vemen yüridullahi bihi hayran yüfeggıhu fiddini,”. Now, let us see what is said here: “Allah makes him a faqih (expert in fiqh) if Allah wishes good for someone.”

We see that hikmat brims over in this quote. Now, “There is a hikmat there if Janâb-i Haqq gave someone religious understanding which makes him/her understand the religion well,”. The afore quote is a hadith-i sharif narrated (rivayat) by Bukhari Muslim, and Kutub al-Sittah, came from our beloved Prophet. So, it means that whoever Allah wishes good upon, is made a faqih (expert in fiqh) by Allah.

A person has to know his religion (din) in the right way, and should have right knowledge (ilm), right deeds (amel), a right belief (iman), and right efforts with a right jihad. These will unfold a contest of goodness that will benefit humanity.

A person who lacks fiqh cannot become a judge. So, what is fiqh? “Fiqh is knowing whatever Almighty Allah inform us, whether for us or against us, in a proper way along with their evidence.” That is the fiqh description of Al-Imam Al-Azam, and a hikmat (wisdom) lies here. That is why Al-Imam Al-Azam preferred fiqh, or rather Islamic jurisprudence, for he understood that all sciences (ilm) are incorporated in fiqh, and Al-Imam Al-Azam is among the greatest faqihs (experts in fiqh) of the world. Later, he earned close interest of more than two thirds of the Muslims of the world, and he earned the admiration of all Islamic scholars (âlims).

Time Stamp: 1:05:10

The ignorant folk, those who have sect fanaticism who lack ilm (knowledge) babble out randomly. That is an ignorant speech, and there is no hikmat (wisdom) where there is ignorance. Fiqh requires theoretical and practical knowledge, for fiqh brims over with hikmat (wisdom).

Besides, understanding the meaning in the essence of creatures is also hikmat (wisdom). What is referred by meaning is manifest jawhar (matter). In other words, understanding the chemistry, physical structure, and contents of matter, and the discoveries made regarding these are also of hikmat (wisdom).

“Fiqh, and ma’rifat are used for the servant (qul) who did not know, but knew later,” this is a narration (rivayat) of Ibrahim en-Nehai. Now, can you call Allah a faqih? No, you cannot. And you cannot call Allah an ârif (who earned knowledge) either. But why? This is because these are attributes of those who learn later.

Allah has given them hikmat (wisdom), thus they became faqihs (experts in fiqh), and ahlul ma’rifat (people of spiritual knowledge). Now, that is why we say Allah is All-Knowing in azal (eternity a parte ante) and abad (eternity a parte post). Besides, Allah is the Creator and owner of hikmat. Allah is the creator and owner of ma’rifat, knowledge (ilm), wisdom (irfan), and all things. That is why one cannot call Allah a faqih or ârif. These words denote that someone did not know and learned later whereas Allah is All knowing in azal (eternity a parte ante) and abad (eternity a parte post). As you see there are certain words that bring glory to the servant (qul) but they are not suitable for the Magnificence of Allah.

In other words, hikmat (wisdom) is lost, and ignorance is unfolded, when a servant is divinized, or words that do not suit Allah Ta’ala are used.

Moreover, “being thoughtful is of hikmat (wisdom),” is a narration (rivayat) of Şureyk. “Hikmat also means attending to discoveries and inventions, and the secrets of discovery are within the established order. Allah creates for the faida (benefit) of the servant (qul).” The last narration (rivayat) comes from Fakhr al-Din al-Razi.

As you see, the inventions are also of hikmat, discoveries are of hikmat, and the secrets that are to be discovered are within the established order. This universe is an established order, in which laws are in effect, and discovering any of these laws is of hikmat, but the humanity advances rather slow-paced here.

There are reasons for this rather slow advancement. The humanity is rather slow in discoveries, but why? That is because they are trying to solve the cosmological (kevni) ayat (verse, sign) rather than acting unison with the ayat (verse, sign) of the Book of Allah, thus they do not receive the full support of Allah. It is Janâb-i Haqq who has given hikmat (wisdom) to the servants (qul) in many discoveries that benefit the humanity. Janâb-i Haqq gave worldly duties to those who favor it, and other duties for people who favor the afterlife (ākhira). In other words, everyone in the world has received a duty, which is given in accordance with their wishes. So, everyone in the world has a duty, which is in accord with their free will.

A person may work for his detriment, or for his/her own good, that is up to him/her. This is because Allah gives him a duty according to his/her free will. Allah is not restricting the freedoms here. People who favor worldly lives are saying that they wish to endeavour for worldly things, and that they do not care about the afterlife (ākhira) ever.

Time Stamp: 1:10:03

Do you say that as well? Okay, then Janâb-i Haqq gives you a worldly duty. And gives the others other duties, and gives one to everyone. Allah makes people work somewhere according to their own wishes. However, the earnings of the faithful hearts that are filled with hikmat (wisdom) who receive the aid of Allah by paying close attention to both cosmological signs and the verses of the Book are quite different. These people earn the eternal favours of Allah as well, they do not just earn in the world. And worldly people do not have shares in the afterlife (ākhira). A Muslim is he who knows his world and afterlife (ākhira) well. Muslims should be the people who work hardest in the world, for they need to build their worldly lives, and their life in the afterlife (ākhira). They shall invest in the afterlife. Muslims must be the hardest working people. Muslims are obliged to be hardworking. The following is a narration (rivayat) of Fakhr al-Din al-Razi. Discoveries should be made after learning from this narration (rivayat). “The servant (qul) cannot do anything but discover what is created,” he says. We have to pay attention to this quote. Whatever the servant (qul) discovers is of the creation, for the servant (qul) cannot create anything. The only Creator is Allah Ta’ala. For example, think of a scientist who researches the chemistry of water, and says there is hydrogen and oxygen in it. He researches it. He researches the chemistry of it, but he is not creating the water itself, rather he is trying to discover that which is created. You may also research a fruit, a scientist who specializes in that field may research a fruit, look into its chemistry, its compounds, and he may understand its nature as much as he can. However, one has to be the creator in order to understand its nature completely. So, he cannot understand it entirely. But those who have been granted success by Janâb-i Haqq are exceptions here. We say here that the servant (qul) discovers that which is created, but he/she cannot create, it is necessary to teach this to the humanity as an object lesson.

Some people use the world, “to create” as in, “I am creative”. You may say, “We have succeeded via the favor of Allah, and we have accomplished this work,”. Why? This is because all success happens via the favor of Allah. The servant (qul) acquires (kasb), and Allah creates (khalq). The Creator is Almighty Allah. There are even Muslims, who are out of Ahlus-Sunnah, who misunderstand this, and some of them consider the servant (qul) a creator. Never! The servant (qul) cannot have ability to create, no one can have that.

Now, hikmat (wisdom), justice and morality are to lay down everything in a proper manner, by staying away from ifrat (exaggeration) and tafrit (underestimation).

Moreover, beauty, rightness, and doing good things are also considered hikmat (wisdom) one by one. It is hikmat to implement divine politics and divine morals. This is quite important, so pay attention. Implementing the divine politics and divine morals is of hikmat as well.

That is why, “küllü kimrain ve külliküm mesulün an râ’yetihi,” – “You are all shepherds, and each shepherd is responsible for his flock,” said Prophet Muhammad. As you see, everyone is responsible for his/her duty. There is a hikmat in he who does his work in the best way. There is also another form of hikmat which is present in those who are devoted to the world, who have no belief or interest in the afterlife. Theirs is istidraj (gradual destruction). Theirs is neither karamat (wonder), nor hikmat (wisdom). Theirs is istidraj (gradual destruction).

Janâb-i Haqq has given accomplishments to the unbelievers too. Those who go too far in disbelief (kufr), polytheism (shirk), haram and sins all have istidraj (gradual destruction). Today, the Shaitan (Devil) has a lot of accomplishments for he is too advanced in evil. However, his success is none other than istidraj (gradual destruction), which is a continuous lower-ranking. There is a place for him in somewhere deeper than the depts of Jahannam. That is because he has gone too far in evil. As for advancing in goodness, hikmat is the manifestation of it. “Tehallagu biahlagıllahi,” – “Acquire morals via the morals of Allah.” So, what is the morals of Allah? That is Al-Quran Al-Karim, and the moral of Prophet Muhammad, the morals of Quran, and the morals Almighty Allah suggests us. Almighty Allah wants these morals.

Allah wants from us Islam as religion (din) and Islam as morals. That is, from all of us, all servants (qul). Those who accept may accept, and those who do not may not.

Now, let us see how Janâb-i Haqq praises Prophet Muhammad in the 4th verse of Surah al-Qalam. [68:4] “wa-ʾinnaka la-ʿalā khuluqin ʿaẓīm” – “O, glorious Prophet!” says Allah by addressing him. Janâb-i Haqq uses the pronoun “K” here, which is used for addressing in person. Allah says: “O, Muhammad (asw)! You are surely on the most exalted and greatest akhlaq (morality),”. The most exalted and greatest akhlaq (morality) belongs to Prophet Muhammad, who is al-Insān al-Kāmil (the complete person). He is the imam (leader) of the prophets, and crown jewel of all Awliya. Thus, the most exemplary person of the world, the leader of the world, whom Almighty Allah presented to the humanity as an example and leader, is Prophet Muhammad (asw) until the Last Day (Qiyamah). Those who speak ill about him are filled with filth inside and outside. Those people swim in filth and ignorance. Filth does not know how pure is, just like lows do not know highs, for lows are completely in the dark about highs, they cannot even imagine it. Those lows are so low that they speak ill about highs. Whoever speaks ill about Prophet Muhammad or other prophets are the vilest people, they lack dignity, and they are dishonoured people. If you speak ill about the one whom is praised by Allah, then you will answer to Allah, and you will end up in the depts of Jahannam (Hell).

You cannot speak ill about any prophet. As for Prophet Muhammad, he is a glorious Prophet who was sent to all the worlds as a rahmat (mercy), he is the greatest Prophet, and the imam (leader) of all Prophets. He is the owner of degrees in Al-Quran Al-Karim, the keeper of Maqam-i Mahmud (the praised station), the keeper of miʿraj (the night journey), the Prophet who reached qāba qawsayn (within two bows’ length). He is the Prophet who went beyond the seven layers of the heavens. He is Prophet Muhammad (asw).

All prophets are grand individuals, but some have higher degrees than the others. “Innemâ buistu liükmemmime mekarimel ahlâki,” let us see what Prophet Muhammad said in the narration (rivayat) of Muwatta and Ahmad ibn Hanbal: “I was sent to complete the good morals,” he said. The religion (din) of Islam, from a to z, is a chastener of the soul, a chastener of the nafs (self), and the religion (din) of the best morals.

This good morals start with a deep respect to Allah, love, decency, tarbiya, and holding Allah in high-esteem. And due to this deep respect to Allah, the person becomes merciful and clement towards all creatures. That is, the Muslims. As for the poor souls who do not know Muslims correctly, they act abominably for they do not know al-ʿAzīz (The Exalted in Might and Power). They live in captivity, but they consider it freedom for they do not know true freedom. Can there be freedom in serving a servant? My dearest friend, come and let us think together for a second.

May Janâb-i Haqq admit us into the servants who attain true hikmat (wisdom). Look, the first cause is to witness Âlim-i Kull (All-Knowing) and Haqim-ul Mutlak (Absolute Ruler), believing in Allah is the primary condition of hikmat. Please pay attention to this section! The first reason is to witness Âlim-i Kull (All-Knowing) and Haqim-ul Mutlak (Absolute Ruler). That is, “Ashadu an la ilaha illallah wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan abduhu wa rasuluh,”. So, who is Âlim-i Kull? That is Allah Ta’ala, All-Knowing. And who is Haqim-ul Mutlak? That is also Allah Ta’ala, who is the Absolute Ruler, the All-Able and Absolute Ruler. The Peerless and Sole Ruler of the Worlds. It is Allah who does not change in azal (eternity a parte ante) and abad (eternity a parte post). It is Allah whose Qudrat (Power), and Sovereignty is Absolute.

Therefore, it is said that hikmat (wisdom) is in witnessing and believing in Allah. This is the origin of hikmat (wisdom). Your creation is the document of the existence of Allah anyway. We are talking right now, and who creates this moment? We think, and who makes us think? We see, and who makes us see? We hear, and who makes us hear? Your tongue is capable of tasting various flavours; and there is a system established in your body. The anfusi (spiritual) and afaqi (physical) worlds have been placed inside you. The soul and the body, or rather the substance and meaning is united, and thus a perfect human is created.

Is this not the witness of the existence of Allah? If you do not witness, then you would be denying both Allah and yourself. So, get your mind together! You would unsee the universe by disbelieving. Thus, “witnessing and believing in Âlim-i Kull (All-Knowing) and Haqim-ul Mutlak (Absolute Ruler) is hikmat (wisdom),” they said.

There is no coincidence in the world, nothing is coincidence. Everything is a taqdeer-ul ilahi (divine decree), and everything happens by Allah’s creation. Understand the operation, and become acquainted with it for the universe is operating, and everyone in the universe is working. You see, to understand this, and work in this way in a correct manner is also of hikmat (wisdom). We are given personal traits; all of these personal traits are incorporated into the structure of the term “hikmat” one by one. Look at the person, and then look at the society. Think about the personal and social traits, and that people are given individual personalities.

Janâb-i Haqq created everyone separately, with a unique personality, in a perfect manner. Allah created women, men other creatures properly. Janâb-i Haqq established a perfect order. There are things you understand and things you cannot understand. The fact that you do not understand some does not mean this order is not perfect. You have understood only as much as you can. As for those you could not understand, they are also perfect, for the Creator knows everything about the creatures. As for us, we are Allah’s servants (qul), and we know only as much as Allah taught us.

Amel (acts, deeds) is a fragment of the religion (din). Good amels (deeds) are commands of the religion (din) one by one. As for evil amels (deeds), they are prohibitions of Allah one by one. So, what is the purpose of creation, or hikmat (hidden cause) of the humanity?

You see, in the 56th verse of Surah al-Dhāriyāt: “wa-mā khalaqtu l-jinna,” says Allah. It means: “I did not create the jinn for some other purpose,”. And says, “wa-l-ʾinsa,” – “I did not create the humans for some other purpose,”. So, why did Allah create? Allah says, “ʾillā li-yaʿbudūn,” – “except that they may worship Allah Ta’ala, be servants (qul), know Allah, and enter the command of Allah. That they may know Allah’s rulership, and implement the divine laws. Allah says this is why Allah created the jinn and the humans. As you know, the jinn also have different classes such as believers, non-believers, and other classes. They also have polytheists (musrikun) and jinn of other faiths. That is why the humanity must ask themselves first. “O, humanity! Ask yourself about why Allah created you. As Allah created the universe, and the blessings (nimet) for you, but ask yourself why you are created! You see, Al-Quran Al-Karim gave you the answer. What did Allah say? “You were created to worship (ibadat) to Allah, and to become a servant (qul). O, humanity! Obey your Rabb (Lord)! Do not rebel! Come to the unending and eternal rahmat (mercy) of Allah, and attain he favor of Allah, and do not ever be struck by the punishment or wrath of Allah!

Al-Quran Al-Kareem – Tafsir (Exegesis) Lesson 53

I seek shelter in Allah from the rejected Satan. In the name of Allah, the most gracious, the most Merciful.

Our life-giving lessons continue, and this is the 53rd lesson. Once again, our topic is the hikmat (wisdom), and we shall continue to discover it. As you know, there is a centre in humans. This is the heart, the center of the union. The nafs (self) that finds, and the nafs (self) that is found; a unity and secret of wahdat (unity) is seen. As for the heart, it is a unity center of the nafs (self).

The nafs (self) that finds, and the nafs (self) that is found; the secret of wahdat (unity) lies here. And surely, the duty of all nafs’ (selves) is to enter into the service of the belief (iman) in the heart, and be subject to Allah.

That is, a transition from information to actual servitude (qul). In other words, a person shall acquire the haqq (true) information, and then he/she has to start being a servant (qul). As for information; the religion (din), ibadat (worship), taat (obeying the laws), and bliss in akhira, these are all considered information, and contents of hikmat (wisdom) one by one.

So, one has to acquire information, and then begin his/her servitude (qulluq). The information here is the religion (din), ibadat (worship), taat (obeying the laws), and the bliss in akhira, which are hikmat. And this bliss also encompasses comtemplation about divine commands, to follow them, discourse on divine commands, and understanding and comprehending them well.

For Janab-i Haqq has given us aql (intellect), fikr (thought), sense, memory, and cognizance, and other spiritual powers, but why? These were given to us so that we may understand the commands of Almighty Allah well, listen them well, and that we may find life.

Islam gives life. Therefore, those who understand Islam well, who believe and implement them in his/her life finds life.
