Turkish English Tafsir Lesson 288-290

Al-Quran Al-Kareem – Tafsir (Exegesis) Lesson 288

On the 26th to 53rd verses of Surah al-A’raf [7].

I seek shelter in Allah from the rejected Satan. In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Hodja recites the 26th verse of Surah al-A’raf [7].

“O Children of Adam!” says Almighty Rabb and adds, “We have sent down the dress that covers shame and provides adornment to you. As for the dress of piety (taqwa), it is the best. These are among the signs of Allah so that you may think and take heed.”

Dearest listeners, Janâb-i Haqq is drawing all our attention especially to the 26th verse of Surah al-A’raf [7] which we have recited. The verse says, “O Children of Adam! We have sent down to you a dress that covers shame and provides adornment. What is best is the dress of taqwa. See, these are among the signs of Allah so that you may think and take heed,” says Janâb-i Haqq. Now, the dress of taqwa is an embodiment of obedience to Allah. A person is to wear his clothing inside and outside as is due, and wear hiss dress and clothing in a proper fashion; he is to wear the dress of taqwa, and fulfil the command and requirement of this taqwa. That is, you are to make yourself suitable to taqwa inside and outside. See, contemporaneity is in obedience to Allah. Modernity or contemporaneity does not come by rebelling against Allah. Azrail (a.s.) will not say he won’t take you away because you are modern or contemporary. In every era, contemporaneity has been in obeying Allah, serving Allah, and working for the better good of humanity. There is no contemporaneity in revealing your inappropriate parts, that would be antiquated because they had clothes made out of light (nūr) in janna (paradise), and they were removed when they ate from the forbidden tree, their clothes of light (nūr) were stripped off, and their shameful parts were revealed. What caused their shameful parts to be revealed was the whispering and waswas of Iblīs.

Janâb-i Haqq commands the following.

Astaizu billah.

Hodja recites the 27th verse of Surah al-A’raf [7].

Let us see what our Almighty Rabb says in this verse of the Quran: “O Children of Adam! Do not let Shaitan put you into trouble by leading you astray the way he had your parents expelled from paradise, having their dress removed from them, so that he could show them their shame.

Time Stamp: 5:00

Because he sees you, he and his tribe.” That is, the Shaitan and his supporters see you from where you can’t see them. “Surely We made the shaitans friends with those who do not believe,” says Janâb-i Haqq. You see, devils are friends of those who do not believe, and he caused our father Adam and our mother Hawwa to be expelled from janna (paradise). That is, he had caused their dress to be removed from them to show them their shame, and caused them to be expelled them from janna (paradise). is to undress men and women completely, and bring out their inappropriate parts. That is what the Shaitan did.

Janâb-i Haqq also says the following.

Hodja recites the 28th verse of Surah al-A’raf [7].

“When they commit an evil deed, they say, ‘We found our forefathers doing it, and Allah has ordered this to us.’.” Pay attention! They associate the wrongdoing of their forefathers with Allah. They associate the wrongs of their forefathers and atheism with Allah, which is a slander to Allah. Janâb-i Haqq says, “Say, ‘Allah never orders immorality. Do you say about Allah what you do not know?” Janâb-i Haqq says, “قُلْ أَمَرَ رَبِّي بِالْقِسْطِ” – “Say, ‘My Rabb has ordered me justice.”

See, Allah orders what is best, truest, and complete justice. That is what Janâb-i Haqq wanted him to say.

Hodja recites the 29th verse of Surah al-A’raf [7].

Allah says, “Set your faces to Allah on each occasion of prostration, and pray to Allah by associating the religion (din) with only Allah. You will be returned to Allah just as Allah originated you.”

We shall all return to the presence of Almighty Allah, there is no doubt about that.

Hodja recites the 30th verse of Surah al-A’raf [7].

Allah has led a group to the right path, and a group deserved misguidance. Surely, they had taken shaitans as allies besides Allah, and they thought they were on the right path.”

See, they took the Shaitan as a friend, but he thinks he is on the right path. This misconception is in the root of all wrongs in the world. They abandon the Quran. They abandon Allah, never! They abandon the Prophet. They abandon the truth and reality (haqq wa haqiqa), and deviate to the path of the Shaitan, and thinks that it is the right path. Almighty Allah is telling all truths to us servants (qul) in Islam and Al-Quran Al-Karim. Allah reads all the souls (ruh), and Janâb-i Haqq brings forth the truths against all that is wrong via the glorious Quran. See, that is the guarantee of eternal bliss. Islam and the glorious Quran are the guarantee of being truly blissful, and living a happy life.

We are all in much need of these lessons of the life-giving light (nūr) so long as they are straight-up from the Quran itself. We are all in much need of the life-lessons and happiness of this light (nūr). We are in eternal need of Allah. We need to hold fast to the command of Allah via Al-Quran Al-Karim.

Hodja recites the 31st verse of Surah al-A’raf [7].

Let us see what Janâb-i Haqq said in this glorious verse: “O Children of Adam! Wear your clean clothes every time you go to place of worship (masjid), eat and drink but do not be extravagant.”

See, Allah Ta’ala says you should wear your clothes every time you go to masjid, and wear clean clothes. Janâb-i Haqq does not say go naked, or be naked. Rather, says you should wear your clean clothes every time you go to masjid, eat and drink but do not be extravagant. This verse utters the two of the many predicaments of today’s world. Firstly, look at the situation of those who bring nudity to the fore, and see how people waste beautiful bounties (nimat) in the world through extravagance. They are being wasted. The rights of people who struggle with hunger all around the world is in here, their rights are being wasted, but they are being extravagant and wasting it. One side of the world is struggling for bread, and striving to fill their stomach while the other side is being extravagant through spending on luxury. One by one these are the embodiments of the deeds of the Devil. That is why we should strongly avoid extravagance. Allah says, “Surely, Allah does not like the extravagant.” See, Janâb-i Haqq commands, “إِنَّهُ لاَ يُحِبُّ الْمُسْرِفِين”.

Hodja recites the 32nd verse of Surah al-A’raf [7].

Say, “Who made the adornment and lawful sustenance (rizq) that Allah brought forth for the servants (qul)?” And adds, “These are for the believers during this worldly life, while they are purely for them on the Last Day, and the disbelievers will be completely deprived of it. This is how we elaborate the verses for a people who know.”

See, that is what Almighty Allah (c.c.) has said.

Time Stamp: 15:00

Hodja recites the 33rd verse of Surah al-A’raf [7].

“Say, ‘My Rabb has only forbidden fuhsiya (immorality), whether open or secret, and sins, and unjust rebellion, and that you associate with Allah that for which Allah has not sent down evidence, and that you say about Allah that which you do not know.”

See, Allah forbade fuhsiya – immorality, whether open or secret. Allah forbade all sins and rebellion without right. Allah forbade you from associating with Allah for which Allah has not sent down evidence. Allah forbade polytheism (shirk) completely. Allah forbade you from saying things about Allah that which you do not know. A person does not blindly follow that which he does not know, rather tries to learn what he does not know, and won’t talk without any knowledge. That is, “وَلِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلٌ”.

Now, nobody should forget that the evil of their sins stand over them. See an evil for each sin stands over everyone. When the hour comes that evil, the calamity of the sin whether it is open or secret, will descend down on him, or explode in his soul. There are sins that will explode in the inner world of the sinner. Every sin is like an explosive. That is why there are sins that descend down on the sinners like explosives raining down. Every sin explodes inside or outside the sinner, meaning it explodes over them.

Hodja recites the 34th verse of Surah al-A’raf [7].

Janâb-i Haqq explains everything in the best possible manner. These are verses and explanations of Allah. There is an appointed time (ajal) for each people (ummah). The calamities that will befall you has an appointed time (ajal). That said, when the moment of death approaches when your time runs out is also an appointed time (ajal). “So, when their appointed time will come, they cannot be late for a moment, nor will they get ahead.”

You cannot change the hour of ajal back and forth.

A clock will not click when it runs out of battery.

At the end of the lifetime, they will address the soul, “Get out, now!”

The angels of death under Azrail (a.s.) will come and tell you to give your life. They tell you to give your soul, there is no salvation, there is death. Let us go to our Rabb with love. Let us not be like those who got caught and chained like marauders, who are brought to the presence of Allah that way. Let us love and respect our Rabb, and obey the command. We are servants (qul) of Allah. So, let us serve Allah. If you rebel against the commands of Allah, then there is an appointed time (ajal) for every trouble that stands over you, and you have changing it back and forth. What happens happens when that hour comes, and the person will get what he deserved. That is, nobody is saved after rebelling against Allah, and/or by rejecting the Quran, rejecting and Muhammad. That said, you should acknowledge (tasdiq) the whole of Islam wholeheartedly, and try to fulfil its requirements to the extent of your ability. Don’t you ever deny. Do not ever refute. Do not have doubt. Do not fall into polytheism (shirk) or hypocrisy (nifaq). Do not fall into disbelief (kufr)! Otherwise, you will ruin yourself for eternity. See, the evil of disbelief (kufr) awaits in your brain and over you. Renounce disbelief (kufr) and be saved. Renounce polytheism (shirk), because denying the sharia (law) of Islam is equal to ruining yourself. You can’t deny anything of Islam at all.

Time Stamp: 20:55

They are to be acknowledged (tasdiq), to be believed, and fulfilled. Islam is of divine origin; it is Allah’s laws and commands. These do not belong to somebody else. That is, these are not made-up laws written by someone. That is why beloved friends, Janâb-i Haqq gives the command and firman (edict). Janâb-i Haqq is telling people to wear clean clothes, to wear their pure adornments, and to stand away from all kinds of haram and sin. We are to follow whatever Allah says in the Quran along with whatever has been said in sunnah (tradition), ijma (consensus), and qiyas (analogy) in the name of Islam in regards to the provisions (hukm) of the Quran. We are to follow the laws and rules of Islam, the Islam that is practiced which has been brought forth with statement of Islam and the Quran which Prophet Muhammad narrated and explained. We are to be Muslims the way these are brought forth. That is an obligation upon us, and whoever tries to escape this will have no escape from Allah. There is death where you escape, there is Allah. You cannot go up because the faithless have no right in high places; you will always go down where there is a wrath, rage, and punishment of Allah. There is barzakh, life in the grave, and imprisonment. And up there, there is Illiyin (the highest place in jannah).

Hodja recites the 35th verse of Surah al-A’raf [7].

“O Children of Adam,” says Allah and adds, “if messengers from among you come to you conveying My verses to you, then, those who fear Allah and correct themselves will have no fear, nor shall they grieve.”

Beloved friends, if Allah says there is no fear or sorrow for someone, then there won’t be any fear or sorrow for him even if hell breaks loose every day. As long as you follow the word of Allah, and obey Allah. See, Janâb-i Haqq says, “If messengers from among you come to you and tell My verses to you,” which are the verses of the Quran that are valid until the Hour. That is, Isa was valid before Muhammad. Musa was valid before Isa. Other prophets such as Ibrahim, Nuh, and other prophets that extend to Adam were valid in their respective pre-Musa eras. The worlds only valid sharia (law) until the Hour became the sharia (law of the Quran) which is the sharia (law) of Islam that Prophet Muhammad brought forth after Muhammad (asw) came to the world with the sharia (law) of Islam and the Quran. The religion (din) came as one, but the sharias (laws) came by changing. What did Allah do? Allah renewed the sharia (law) with Prophet Muhammad. The Shari (Law-Maker) of the sharias (laws) is Allah. It is Allah who renews. As Al-Quran Al-Karim is the last sharia (law) of Islam, it brought forth the holiest provisions (hukm) in regards to the problems of every era. It brought resolutions to the problems, and incorporated all requisites of the true life, and gave replies regarding them.

Time Stamp: 25:35

All values that prepare you to the blissful and eternal life encompass the eras, encompass the nations; these truths have been placed in Islam and the Quran. If you discover Al-Quran Al-Karim well, then you will see yourself ahead of eras. You will also see that it is the holiest and unequalled miracle. That is why you should discover Al-Quran Al-Karim well, and understand it well! See, we are trying to give you the preliminary notes and discovery notes of the light (nūr). It is said in the verses that whoever fears Allah and mend their ways… As for those who believe in the verses and fear Allah and mend their ways, they will have no fear, nor will they grieve. There is no fear or sorrow for them here on earth as well, rather there is a complete bliss. This goes for their life in barzakh, and life in the other world as well because there is surely janna (paradise) and the jamal (beauty) of Allah for them. From then on, there is only the ultimate meeting with the pleasure (riza) of Allah.

Hodja recites the 36th verse of Surah al-A’raf [7].

“Those who reject Our verses,” refute or do not believe in them, “and are arrogant towards them – those are the companions of jahannam (hell),” says they will go to jahannam (hell).” That is, those who do not believe in the verses. This encompasses those who do not believe that the possessor of the written verses of the glorious Quran and the cosmological signs (kevni ayat) is Allah, that this universe was created by Almighty Allah, that this universe is managed through the command of Allah, that Allah has sent Muhammad as a Prophet. Those who refute or disbelieve that Al-Quran Al-Karim is the book of Allah, and the verses and provisions (hukm) in it, and becomes arrogant towards them, they are companions of jahannam (hell), and they shall abide therein for eternity.”

Says, “هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ”. That is what glorious Al-Quran Al-Karim says, and Allah is telling the truth. Allah speaks the truth. Allah does not say anything but the truth. Everything about Allah is truth and reality (haqq wa haqiqa). Do not ruin yourself. See, these verses are of the glorious Al-Quran Al-Karim are utterances (kalam) and laws of Allah.

Hodja recites the 37th verse of Surah al-A’raf [7].

“Who is more unjust than he who invents a lie against Allah or rejects the verses of Allah?” That is what Janâb-i Haqq said. Do you see this? Allah says, “فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ” – “Who is more unjust?” Just take a look at this situation!

Time Stamp: 30:10

Their fair-share from the book will reach them, as for the envoys who shall take their lives; the armies of Azrail come and take their lives, and when the angels of death come to them in order take their lives, they will say, ‘Where are those whom you worshipped besides Allah?” See, where is the one whom you tried to value above Allah, for whom you did not acknowledge the Quran; there were things like that, where are they? Janâb-i Haqq asks about them, “Where are those whom you worshipped besides Allah?” You used to consider the sharia (law) outdated. You used to consider the laws and book of Allah outdated. You did not want to believe in Allah. You used to neglect the commands of Allah. You wouldn’t say anything against them as if you were worshipping them. You used to announce that you adhere strictly to someone’s principles. They ask, “Where are those whom you worshipped besides Allah.” Who will ask? Well, the angels of death ask this as they take their lives.

See, they ask that.

Hodja recites a part of the 37th verse of Surah al-A’raf [7].

They ask, “Where are those whom you used to worship besides Allah, whom you used to adhere strictly?” You used to disacknowledge the principles of Allah, and every people in the world had their own principles in their own way, and they would not want to believe in the principles of Allah in no way. Where are they? Where are those whom you used to worship besides Allah? That is what the angels of death will ask. And they will reply, “Those whom we used to worship all have vanished from us.” See, the armies of death are above those whom you used to worship. No matter who it is that you worship, no matter which ruler it is, no matter which leader it is, no matter which pioneer it is, they will all give their lives to Azrail, and they will all answer to Allah. If what you worship is a live person, then he will also give his life and answer to Allah. If you have worshipped something like a rock, tree, idol, this or that etc., then they will be thrown into jahannam (hell) alongside you, and you will abide therein with them. You will burn in jahannam (hell) altogether. You worship them when given the chance, but it is all over now. You won’t worship them now. You won’t even want to see them or hear them, but you need to renounce this mistake now.

“They will say, ‘Those whom we used to worship all have vanished from us,’ and they shall testify against themselves that they were disbelievers (kāfirs).”

Hodja recites the 130th verse of Surah al-An’am [6].

Nobody in the world wants anyone to speak ill about them. However, there is Allah and the laws and provisions (hukm) of Allah out there. If you believe that and you serve Allah, then you will be saved.

I am telling this to my own soul (nafs), and I am also sharing this with you as I tell this to my soul (nafs). You are my brother in the name of humankind. We are all brothers as we are all humans. That said, we are all servants (qul) of Allah. I say we should listen together as I tell these to myself.

Dearest friends, let us see what Almighty Allah said after this verse of the Quran.

Time Stamp: 34:57

Hodja recites the 38th verse of Surah al-A’raf [7].

Almighty Allah tells him to say to them, “Allah will say, ‘Enter the fire of jahannam along with people who passed before you from the jinn and human beings.” That is the end of denial. See, one can’t deny the verses of Allah.

Hodja recites the 39th verse of Surah al-A’raf [7].

Whenever a group enters jahannam they curse their own fellows.” Why? They go to jahannam altogether, and everyone curses one another. Why? Because the supported each other in heresy and disbelief (kufr) in the world. They hindered one another when someone said, “Let us believe in the Quran.” They immediately supported disbelief (kufr), and they never supported the faith (iman) in the Quran.

When they all have been gathered therein in the end, the successors will say this about those who passed before them: “Our Rabb! Here are the ones who deviated us from the right path. Give them manifold punishment and torment from the fire of jahannam.” Allah says, “Everyone’s punishment is manifold.”

So, even if those before you deviated, then why did you deviate? Why did you deviate just because your leader deviated? Didn’t you have any intellect (aql) at all? Janâb-i Haqq says, “Everyone’s punishment is manifold, but you do not know.” There is no salvation for their leader and those who followed them, including those who came before and after. Serve Allah. Listen to Allah. Listen to the Quran and its verses (ayat). See, the life-lessons of eternal bliss in the Quran, which you should implement it in your life, soul, inside, outside, esoteric (anfus) and exoteric (afaq). You need to personally implement the life of Islam, and live a completely Islamic life.

Let us see what Janâb-i Haqq said after announcing that as well.

Hodja recites the 40th verse of Surah al-A’raf [7].

“The former ones will say to the latter ones, ‘So, you have no superiority against us. Now, taste the punishment for what you have been earning.’.” You see, that is what the leaders and pioneers say to those who followed them. The former ones will say that to the latter ones. You had heard what the latter ones said to the former ones, but their punishment is manifold and there is no salvation, and whatever they may say will not benefit them.

That said, Janâb-i Haqq says the following.

Hodja recites the 36th verse of Surah al-A’raf [7].

Janâb-i Haqq says, “Surely those who have rejected Our verses disdain believing them have lost everything because the gates of the heavens will not be opened for them.” And adds, Until a camel passes through the eye of a needle…” See, is it possible for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle? “They will not enter janna (paradise) until a camel pass through the eye of a needle.”

See, Janâb-i Haqq expressed here in this way that it is utterly impossible for them to enter janna (paradise), and that they shall stay in jahannam (hell) for eternity. Allah says, “وَكَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُجْرِمِينَ” – “This is how We punish the criminals,” says Janâb-i Haqq.

Time Stamp: 40:45

Allah can’t be denied. Allah is the Real (al-Haqq). Allah’s commands reality (haqiqa). Allah’s laws are the rights (huqūq). Allah is the Real Being whose commands are the rights (huquq). That is why you should never deny the truth (haqq) or rights (huqūq)! Islam is right (haqq), it is the divine rights (huqūq); do not ever deny! Let me tell you something else, at least do not deny even if you have no other talent. You will not enter janna (paradise) for eternity until a camel pass through the eye of a needle if you deny, and you will never get out of jahannam (hell). See, in this verse a camel represents bigness while the needle is associated with smallness. As there is a simile and a good representation, and that is why Almighty Allah has given such an example so that people may understand well.

Hodja recites the 41st verse of Surah al-A’raf [7].

“For them there is a bed from the jahannam, and over them there are coverings.” See, their beds are fire, coverings are also fire. That is, fire is beneath and above them. It is said that is their bed and coverings. Allah says, “This is how we punish the unjust (zalimun).” Let me remind you that Allah is the Real Being. Allah’s commands are the law (huqūq). Do not deny the truth and law (huqūq). Almighty Allah informs the situation of those who deny.

Feel sorry for yourself and humankind, do not deviate yourself. Do not try to deviate humankind from the way of Islam.

Hodja recites a hadith-i sharif.

Try to be a means of guidance (hidayat).

Work for the happiness of all humanity so that all humanity enters into the bright Islam, and that they may follow Allah.

Hodja recites the aforementioned hadith-i sharif again.

Try to be a means for everyone to find the pleasure (riza) of Allah through Islam and the Quran, and for everyone to be good Muslims who are not means of misguidance for anyone. That is, be a means of guidance (hidayat). Do not be a means of misguidance (dalalah). Do not be a leader of disbelief (kufr), do not be a leader of polytheism (shirk), do not be a leader of transgression (zulm) or hypocrisy (nifaq). Be a means of guidance (hidayat), and a leader of guidance (hidayat). Servitude to Allah and beneficial work to all creatures and humankind is important because Islam is the mercy (rahmat) of Allah. That is the mercy (rahmat) that embraces all of humankind. Why do you deviate people from the way of Islam so that they may be deprived of this mercy (rahmat) of Allah? That occupation is that of the Iblīs the Shaitan. This was mentioned in the aforementioned verses. What did Iblīs say? He said he will deviate humankind, Children of Adam. He said he will come at them from their front and from their rear, and from their right and their left. He couldn’t say he will come at them from above, why? That is because the mercy (rahmat) of Allah comes from above, and Iblīs was dismissed from the mercy (rahmat), and that is why he can’t come at them from above. However, he comes at them from their front and from their rear, and from their right and their left. That is why it is the duty of Iblīs to mislead. Do not side with Iblīs and the shaitans (devils), rather truly believe in Allah and be at the command of Allah. Do not ruin yourself! Do not ruin people whom you misled and deviated!

Time Stamp: 45:50

Hodja recites the 42nd verse of Surah al-A’raf [7].

“As for those who believe (iman) and do good deeds, We do not task any soul beyond its capacity. They are the people of janna (paradise), and they shall abide therein forever. In this verse there are two requisites of entering janna (paradise). One is faith (iman), the other is good deeds (amal-e-saleh). What is good deeds (amal-e-saleh)? Well, there are juridical (fiqh-i) and canonical (shar-i) provisions (hukm) that Allah Ta’ala has offered to us. We are to worship (ibadat) and serve (qulship) Allah the way Allah wants and Prophet Muhammad has shown us. We are to fulfil the obligations (fards), customs (sunnah), and beloved things (mustahabb). Iman and jihad shall be on the forefront. When we say good deeds (amal-e-saleh), it comes after faith (iman), and then struggle (jihad) and then other worships.

Beloved friends, after that Janâb-i Haqq says the following.

Hodja recites the 43rd verse of Surah al-A’raf [7].

In this verse of the Quran our Almighty Rabb says, “We will remove the rancour there is in their hearts.” There won’t be any rancour or wrong attributes (sifāt) in the hearts of those who enter janna (paradise) anymore, they will all be removed. Then, an inner and outer world that is in completely according to janna (paradise) emerges. “And streams will flow beneath them.” “And they will say, ‘Praise be to Allah who has guided us to this. We would not have been able to find the way, had Allah not guided us. Surely, the messengers of our Rabb have brought us the truth.’.”

Those who enter janna (paradise) like this, praise by confessing they have been blessed with the grace (lutf) of Allah. “Then they will receive a call, ‘This is janna (paradise), which you have been made to inherit for what you used to do.” From then on, they are the inheritors of janna (paradise), and they shall live therein for eternity.

Beloved friends, to live this Islam is to be happy for eternity and to find the true life, the immortal life. As for staying out of Islam, it is to be deprived of all beauties, all happiness, and every bounty (nimat). It is to be seized by painful punishment, rage, and wrath of Allah. Is it not a pity? Why should one go for the wrath of Allah while there is rahmat (mercy)? Is this not a pity? Don’t you feel sorry for yourself at all?

Time Stamp: 50:07

Hodja recites the 44th verse of Surah al-A’raf [7].

Janâb-i Haqq says this in this verse of the Quran: “The people of janna (paradise) will call out to people of jahannam (hell), “We have found true what our Rabb had promised us. Have you, too, found true what your Rabb had promised?’ They will say, ‘Yes.’ Then, an announces will announce among them, ‘Be the curse of Allah upon wrongdoers (zalimun).’.” Who is a wrongdoer (zalim)? That is those who do injustice (zulm) to themselves and others. The biggest injustice (zulm) is denial. It is disbelief (zulm) and the biggest injustice (zulm) even if you deny a single verse among the verses of Islam and the Quran. As for polytheism (shirk), it is the biggest injustice (zulm). That is the biggest slander to Allah. Hypocrisy (nifaq) is even worse than these. That is why you should never abandon even a single command of Allah, do not deny, and do Allah’s deeds with pleasure. Allah has commanded a command; do you know how exalted that command is? That command is exalted just the way Allah is. For example, Allah commanded namāz (prayer), what a valuable worship (ibadat). That is because the Exalted has commanded it. If all the explorers of the world tried to explore namāz (prayer) inside and outside they could only discover a small part of it. They can’t discover that it is filled to the brim with endless and boundless wisdom (hikmat) and light (nūr), humankind can’t discover it fully. Whatever humankind discovered in they world since Adam is all they could discover. As for Al-Quran Al-Karim, it is completely the utterances (kalam) of the Divine. That is why we need to understand these truths well. The verse says, “Be the curse of Allah upon the wrongdoers (zalimun).” Let us not do injustice (zulm) not to ourselves or others. The wrongdoers (zalimun) are in misery, they are being cursed even in jahannam (hell). They have been thrown into jahannam (hell) and there is curse even there.

Janâb-i Haqq says the following.

Hodja recites the 45th verse of Surah al-A’raf [7].

Let us see what Janâb-i Haqq says about certain attributes (sifāt) of these wrongdoers (zalimun). Janâb-i Haqq says, “They bar people from the way of Allah.” There are those who say do whatever you want but do not become a Muslim. They are utter wrongdoers (zalimun). “And they seek to make it crooked.” They distort the true commands of Allah in order to make it look wrong, and they try to distort people. They wish to make evert truth crooked, and it is said that they used to deny the afterlife (ākhira). Can you deny the afterlife (ākhira)? The world wouldn’t have existed if the afterlife (ākhira) was not present. Almighty Allah stated countless times that the afterlife (ākhira) is the true life, the real world. Actually, the world is a test field, it is a transitory realm. That is like a passenger in a station waiting for the next train, or a passenger sitting under the shadow of a tree before the next bus comes. you have limited amount of breaths to take in this world, you have limited hours in the world, your life span is definite, your number of years left is definite. The world is not a place of staying, rather it is a place of test. Those who came to earth came to die. Death conveys to the afterlife (ākhira), to the immortal life. Allah does not kill you in the afterlife (ākhira). Allah neither kills those who are in janna (paradise) or jahannam (hell). Allah removes death for them so that they may stay in janna (paradise) to live the blissful life; and for others to suffer the punishment. Those who came to earth came for a test and to die. Pass the test, only then will you achieve the immortal life from the grace (lutf) of Allah. That said, nobody should say they haven’t been informed!

Janâb-i Haqq says the following after announcing this.

Time Stamp: 56:16

Hodja recites the 46th verse of Surah al-A’raf [7].

Between the two groups (people of janna and jahannam) there will be a barrier. And on A‘raf (the Heights) there shall be people who will recognize each group through their appearance, and they will call out to the people of Paradise, “Peace be upon you.” They will not have entered it, yet they will hope to.

Janâb-i Haqq informs us the situation of those who are on A‘raf (the Heights), and then adds the following.

Hodja recites the 47th verse of Surah al-A’raf [7].

Let us see what Janâb-i Haqq says here: “When their eyes are turned towards the people of jahannam, they say, “O Rabb! Do not place us with the wrongdoing lot.” See, they see people of janna on one side, and the people of jahannam on the other side. Who are they? Well, they are those who are on A’raf (the Heights).

Janâb-i Haqq says the following.

Hodja recites the 48th verse of Surah al-A’raf [7].

Let us see what Almighty Rabb said in this verse of the Quran: “Those on the heights (a’raf) will call unto the people whom they will recognize through their appearance, saying, ‘Your large numbers and arrogance did not bring any benefit to you.’.” See, those who trust their numbers and are arrogant today, who neglect Al-Quran Al-Karim and turn a deaf ear to it, who turn their backs to Islam, who look down to those who believe in Islam and claim they are outdated just because of that, who look down on people and become arrogant and conceited, that is their satiation therein. See what those on the heights (a’raf) say to them, “Neither your large numbers on earth nor that you were arrogant brought any benefit to you.” That is because they all have been driven to jahannam, the faithless people have no chance of entering janna.

Time Stamp: 1:00:10

Hodja recites the 49th verse of Surah al-An’am [7].

Janâb-i Haqq says this in this verse of the Quran: “Are these the ones whom you swore Allah would never reach them any mercy (rahmat)? (By turning to people of janna), “Enter janna (paradise); there will be no fear for you, nor shall you grieve.”

You see, those who used to look down on those who used to believe and obey Allah will look at them, and they will see those who have believed in Allah whom they used to look down, those faithful people with good deeds; they will see those miserable and poor-fellows going towards janna (paradise). That is why, “The companions of jahannam will call to the companions of janna, “Pour out some water on us or give us something from the sustenance (rizq) that Allah has given you.” Those who are in janna will say, “Allah has forbidden both to the disbelievers (kāfirs).” See, the bounties (nimat) of janna (paradise) are haram to disbelievers (kāfirs).

That is why beloved friends, may Allah not make us fall into that situation. We should supplicate to Allah day and night, and seek refuge in Allah from disbelief (kufr), polytheism (shirk), hypocrisy (nifaq), and bad morals.

Hodja recites the original text of a prayer (dua).

We should keep reciting prayers (duas) like this one.

Hodja recites the original text of another prayer (dua).

We should recite prayers (duas) like this often.

Hodja recites the 50th verse of Surah al-A’raf [7].

See what those in jahannam say to those in janna: Pour upon us some water, we are burning! And they will say: The sustenance (rizq) and water in janna have been made haram to you. They say Allah made it haram. To whom? Says, “عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ” – the bounties (nimat) of janna (paradise) have been made haram to disbelievers (kāfirs). That is, Allah made it haram to them.

Hodja recites the 51st verse of Surah al-A’raf [7].

Let us see what Janâb-i Haqq said in this 51st verse of Surah al-A’raf [7].

“They took their religion (din) as amusement and play, and the worldly life had deceived them.”

See, they used to neglect the religion (din) that Allah willed and the Prophet brought forth, and they made up a religion at a whim, and they call religion and worship as amusement and play. That is innovation (bid’ah). Today, they innovate things as if it is the command of the Quran. They considered their made-up amusement and play as if it is worship (ibadat) and a command of Allah. They replaced their innovations (bid’ah) with worship, and they are practicing irreligion in the name of religion. Such a shame! Janâb-i Haqq says to them, “They took their religion (din) as amusement and play.” See, they consider the religion (din) amusement and play. The most serious and most exalted matter is the matter of religion (din). The most serious legal system (huquq) is the legal system (huquq) of Allah. The religion (din) is the laws and legal system (huquq) of Allah.

Time Stamp: 1:05:26

The religion (din) is not about for play and amusement. Those who take it for amusement and play become disbelievers (kāfirs) immediately. The religion (din) is not about mockery, it is not a game or a toy. They took their religion (din) as play and amusement and the worldly life deceived them. O humankind who live on earth! Know the commands of Allah well, and do not ever take the religion (din) as amusement and play, do not be deceived! Somebody will deceive you. They will try to lead you on made-up innovations (bid’ah) that are not in the Quran as if they are in the Quran. They will portray what Muhammad did not implement as if Muhammad did. Be wary of that! They took their religion (din) as amusement and play, and the worldly life deceived them. Some people procure unearned income (rant) through what they innovated and made-up in the name of religion (din). They deceive you! Turn to the Quran. Turn to Muhammad (asw). Turn to the companions (ashab). Turn to the mujtahid âlims! Turn to knowledge (ilm) and wisdom (irfan) so that you may not be mistaken. Turn to Ahlus-Sunnah wa’l-Jama’ah. Abandon ahlul bid’ah (people of innovation), and dalalah (misguidance). Abandon them even if they are your father, grandfather, or child. Abandon them even if they are your brothers! Abandon the wrong and come to the right. Do not say you have not been informed. Just take a look at the verses of Surah al-Tawbah [9]. See the 20th verse of it and just look through the other verses. Almighty Allah says do not befriend your father or brother who prefers disbelief (kufr). Some fathers and some sons were on the side of Abu Jahl during the Battle of Badr. A brother of someone on the side of Abu Jal was on the side of our Prophet. He had became a Muslim while the other stands on the side of Abu Jahl.

A father had sided with Abu Jahl while his son sided with our Prophet. One of the brothers of a person who was on Abu Jahl’s side was on the side of our Prophet; faith (iman) was fighting with polytheism (shirk). One of the two brothers was a believer (mu’min) and the other was a polytheist (mushrik), and they are up against each other. One was deceived by the wealth of Abu Jahl. He was deceived by the power of the state, while the other has seen faith (iman), truth and reality (haqq wa haqiqa), and the infinite grandeur of Allah; he was made to see these. Faith (iman) was fighting disbelief (kufr). Right (haqq) and wrong (batil) were up against each other. That is always possible in the world. Just take a look at today’s age and the state of people! That is why no matter who deceives you, no matter where wrongs are; leave the wrongs and find the right, come to the right. What is right? Well, that is Allah, the Prophet, and Al-Quran Al-Karim, meaning Islam. Come to Islam knowledge-wise, and come to the proofs of Islam, come to the verses, come to sunnah and hadith-i sharifs. Just give an ear to the understanding of religion (din) of our mujtahids and Islamic scholars (âlims) of Ahlus-Sunnah. Give your heart, you may not know it yourself but find someone who does. Know that the person you found should at least have sources and works, and he should be mujtahid, meaning he should be a true âlim. Abandon the wrongs no matter who has it. Abandon the wrongs and come to truth and reality (haqq wa haqiqa). The Quran is truth and reality (haqq wa haqiqa). There is no religion (din) or faith (iman) by neglecting the Prophet and Al-Quran Al-Karim.

Time Stamp: 1:10:26

And how did they forget they would reach this day? They took their religion (din) as amusement and play and worldly life has deceived them, and what did they do? They forgot that they will come to the presence of Allah and give an account. They didn’t even want to remember, and they made a sour face to those who reminded. Some of them even said profanity, whatever came to their minds. How did they forget they would reach this day? That is what Janâb-i Haqq said. Janâb-i Haqq also said, “We will forget them just as they denied Our verses,” which are the verses of the Quran, cosmological signs (ayat) and written signs (ayat), “We will forget them just as they denied Our verses,” says Janâb-i Haqq. Janâb-i Haqq threw them into jahannam (hell) and said, “Suffer your punishment.” You forgot the verses (ayat), and on this day we forget you in jahannam (hell) with your upside locked with Fire. That is, says there is no mercy, but there is justice. The requital of disbelief (kufr) is jahannam (hell). The requital of polytheism (shirk) and/or wrongdoing (zulm) is jahannam (hell). As for the reward of faith (iman) and good deeds (amal-e-saleh), that is the greatest janna (paradise). That is what our Rabb says, and we convey. We convey because we love humanity. That is why we are trying to announce the verses (ayat) of Almighty Allah. We are trying to announce to the extent of our ability. Naturally, humankind is weak, it has weaknesses. We are obliged to serve Allah to the extent of our ability with our weakness.

Beloved friends, we are in eternal need of Allah because Allah created us; we belong to Allah. How can we not believe in Allah? How can we not obey?  Besides, we are weak, and everything we do if flawed. So, let us at the very least know what is right and real, and try to do right. Let us believe to the extent of our ability and have a complete faith (iman) at the very least. Let us perform the worship (ibadat) the way Allah has commanded and the way Muhammad has demonstrated and implemented. Let us not be deceived or fooled by others.

Astaizu billah.

Hodja recites the 52nd verse of Surah al-A’raf [7].

“Surely, we brought them a book, which We expounded with knowledge, a guidance and mercy (rahmat) to a people who believe.”

You see, this Quran shows the path, it is the everlasting (azali wa abadi) guide, and it is a complete book of mercy (rahmat). Who says this? Allah says, “هُدًى وَرَحْمَةً”, but for whom is it? That is “لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ” – for a people who believe. It came for everyone, but some people do not believe (iman) nor do they accept. That is, they don’t want mercy (rahmat) and guidance (hidayat). They do not want Allah, nor do they want janna (paradise). Okay, you will find a place you deserve, don’t you worry. We pity you but you don’t, then do not worry at all.

Hodja recites the 53rd verse of Surah al-A’raf [7].

Do they await its result? The day its result comes (and the news it brought comes to light) those who had forgotten about it before will say, ‘Surely, the Messengers of our Rabb had brought the truth.’ So, are there any intercessors for us who could intercede (shafa’ah) for us? Or, could we be sent back, so that we might do contrary to what we used to do? Indeed, they have put themselves to loss, and vanished from them all that they used to fabricate.” Allah says, “وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَفْتَرُونَ” that is the result of misguidance (dalalah). Regret upon regret, screech upon screech, a regret that will bring no help. Come, adopt faith (iman) and serve Allah as is due when you still have the chance. Endeavour to be a good Muslim before Azrail (a.s.) comes and takes your life.

Al-Quran Al-Kareem – Tafsir (Exegesis) Lesson 289

On the 54th to 58th verses of Surah al-A’raf [7].

I seek shelter in Allah from the rejected Satan. In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Hodja recites the 54th and 55th verses of Surah al-A’raf [7].

O beloved friends!

Let us see what Allah, the most Exalted and absolute creator of all the worlds, who manages all the worlds with commands, to whom belongs the sovereignty, whose omnipotence (qudrah) has no bounds, to those will nobody can resist; let us see what our Almighty Rabb says in these verses: “Surely your Rabb is Allah, who created the heavens and the earth in six days.” See, the heavens and the earth have been created in six days. Allah created. “Then, Allah rose over the Throne (Arsh). Allah draws the night’s cover over the day which seeks it swiftly; the sun, the moon, and the stars are subjected to the command of Allah.” As you see, everything is subjected to Allah’s command, and they have no chance of leaving Allah’s command. “The sun, the moon, and the stars are subjected to the command of Allah. Know well that creation and command belongs to Allah.” The only Creator is Allah. They only true ruler who gives the command is only Allah.

Hodja recites the 54th verse of Surah al-A’raf [7].

Do not forget this! Allah, who is the Rabb of all the worlds, is the Most Exalted above all. Allah is Tebāreke and Ta’ala; the most Exalted, and generous (fayyad).

“Supplicate to your Rabb humbly and secretly. Surely, Allah does not like those who cross the limits.”

You see, even prayers (duas) should not cross the limits, and we should be moderate in everything, and we should be sincere (ihlas).

Hodja recites the 55th verse of Surah al-A’raf [7].

“Do not make mischief on earth after it has been set in order. Supplicate (dua) to Allah in fear and by hoping for the mercy (rahmat) of Allah.” That is, supplicate (dua) to Almighty Allah. “Surely, the mercy (rahmat) of Allah is close to those who do good (muḥsinīn). The muḥsinīn (good-doers) are those who do good, and they work for the better good of humanity, and they obey Allah. They do everything for Allah. They never forget that Allah sees them. They say, “My Rabb observes me,” and he won’t ever forget that his Rabb is watches him. They say, “I can’t see but I can clearly feel the sheer omnipotence (qudrah) of Allah, but Allah sees me,” and continues to do good with the deepest respect, and be a servant (qul). He will fulfil whatever is the sign of a Muslim.

Beloved friends, and most valuable audience! The ultimate and most valuable creation of Allah is the humankind, and they should know their worth.

Janâb-i Haqq says the following.

Time Stamp: 5:10

Hodja recites the 57th verse of Surah al-A’raf [7].

It is Allah who sends the winds as heralds of good things,” that is Almighty Allah. Winds come first when mercy (rain) is to come. At first, the winds come, and they lift up the heavy-laden clouds, and We drive them to a dead land, and We send down rain therein. And bring forth therewith fruits of every kind. In this manner do We raise the dead, so that you may think and take heed.

Allah is the creator of everything. Allah creates wind, rain, clouds, what grows on earth, whatever there in in the heavens, earth, and the seas; it is Allah who creates all of them. Get your mind straight! Know your Almighty Rabb well. Do not ever lose your bearings in regards to your Rabb! Your Rabb is the Real Being (al-Haqq). Islam is the rights (huquq) and exalted laws of Allah. Don’t you ever forget, and pay attention to the precedence of rights (huquq). See, Allah is the Real (al-Haqq). Allah’s commands are rights (huquq). The precedence of rights (huquq) comes from the Exaltedness of Allah. The commands of the Exalted are surely exalted. The truth (haqq) is exalted, the rights (huquq) are exalted because they are the laws of the Exalted. Think well, and get your head straight! Don’t say you are ignorant. Don’t say you are an Islamic scholar (âlim). Don’t say you are a professor, a judge, or a prosecutor! Let us understand and comprehend truth and reality (haqq wa haqiqa) well. It doesn’t matter if you are a marshal, a general, or a private. You may be a civilian or an official, that doesn’t matter. Let us be servants (qul) to Allah. Let us acknowledge the truth and reality (haqq wa haqiqa), and hold the rights (huquq) in high esteem. The Real (al-Haqq) is Allah. Allah al-Haqq. The rights (huquq) are the laws of Allah.

Let us see what Janâb-i Haqq says.

Hodja recites the 58th verse of Surah al-A’raf [7].

As for a good land, its vegetation come out with the permission of its Rabb. But that which is bad does not grow except useless vegetation. This is how we explain the signs (verse/ayat) for a people who are grateful (shukr).” Allah says, “نُصَرِّفُ الآيَاتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَشْكُرُونَ”. May Janâb-i Haqq make us among those who listen and understand.

Now, we will try to help you understand these verses more clearly with discovery notes on these exalted verses that incorporate an exalted scholarly content which are based on original (asl’i) source, in regards to both narration (riwayat) and its comprehension (dirayat) that shed light.

“May Janâb-i Haqq make us among the servants (qul) who speak the truth, whose every word and deed is light (nūr), truth (haqq), and reality (haqiqa).”

That is a prayer (dua) of our Prophet. He said, “My Allah, make every word of mine true (haqq), and make every deed of mine right (haqq) and light (nūr).” He used to supplicate by saying, “Make every word of mine true (haqq) and light (nūr).”

Our duty is to speak the truth (haqq), and live the truth and reality (haqq wa haqiqa), otherwise you shouldn’t waste your lifetime.

Do not even waste a single word. Do not even waste a single word or a single breath! The breaths that do not refer to monotheism (tawhid), that taken and given without pointing to the love of Almighty Allah; they are like dead souls spread over a sheet of persistence, they are like dead bodies. See, they are like dead bodies.

Breath in the truth (haqq) in each breath. Your every breath should say the truth (haqq), say Allah, and be at the command of Allah. Let there be obedience to Allah, and you should also have good services to the creatures (makhluqat). That is why each breath should point to monotheism (tawhid), and point to the love of Allah Ta’ala. That is how one should take a breath. Besides, you can’t breathe in vain.

Each breath is a part of your lifespan, and angels put stamps as long as you breathe. Do not breathe in vain, rather spend them for what is right. Spend them for the command and pleasure (riza) of Allah. Do not spend your breaths and life in vain. Rather, understand and comprehend what is right (haqq), and live that.

Al-Quran Al-Kareem – Tafsir (Exegesis) Lesson 290

I seek shelter in Allah from the rejected Satan. In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Dearest friends, there have been Pharaohs and Nimrods came to earth who used to challenge Allah, the Creator and Manager of all the worlds. They couldn’t acknowledge Allah or the laws, book, and the Prophets of Almighty Allah in no way. They couldn’t acknowledge the truth (haqq) and rights (huquq) that Almighty Allah brought forth. Nimrod who used to say, “I too give life and bring death” have lived in the world. See the parable of Nimrod, who couldn’t even create a single fly, who couldn’t save himself from the infestation of flies, and who was destroyed by flies! People will say, “I too give life and bring death,” when their souls (nafs) burst in rage and turn into a pharaoh. That is, the pharaohs try to consider themselves the God, and they say, “I too give life and bring death.” That is what Nimrod said. Yet flies invaded his country, and a single fly entered his nose and started eating it. There are narrations that say he was destroyed by a single fly whose wing was broken. That is why this quote is from the glorious Quran, the verse that says, “I too give life and bring death,” had been said by Nimrod against Ibrahim (a.s.), and when he said that Ibrahim (a.s.) said, “Indeed Allah brings the sun from the east.” O Nimrod! “Allah brings the sun from the east; you bring it from the west.” Thereat Nimrod was dumbfounded, and he started doing injustice (zulm). People like Nimrod are brainless. People who are like Nimrod are the most outdated pharaohs. People who are like Nimrod are the red despots and atheists (zindiq) of every era.

The atheists (zindiq) who do not acknowledge Allah, the Messenger, the precedence of law (huquq) are brainless, and when they presented true knowledge (haqq ilm), they object to it with guns and cannons. They can’t fight reason (aql) with reason (aql), or with knowledge (ilm) and wisdom (irfan) because they don’t have reason (aql), knowledge (ilm), or wisdom (irfan). The knowledge (ilm) of those who disacknowledge truth (haqq), law (huquq), Allah and the Messenger is no good. That is why these traits should be used under the control of truth (haqq) and law (huquq). Islam is the everlasting (azali wa abadi) mercy of Allah. As there is protection of Allah it is a completely safe environment, so what does it do? It gives every people a duty, but does not abandon control and discipline based on true justice, social justice, regarding that control is necessary; it implements the true (haqq) discipline. That is not discipline of tyrants, despots, or the unjust (zalim).

Now, in this verses of the Quran Janâb-i Haqq mentioned covering up as you know. Covering private parts is always an obligation (fard). Mosques and their immediate areas are also centres of adornment (ziynat). That is the expression of our distinguished alims. If it is necessary to bring an example, as you know an exegesis (tafsir) of the Quran was written by Muhammad Hamdi Yazir Elmalılı by the offer of Grand National Assembly of Turkey. If you read that tafsīr you will see the meanings of these verses.

Time Stamp: 5:00

Now, what is medicine? Medicine is protection and treatment, that is what medicine is. It is the name of protecting and treating. Medicine is an art of treatment with knowledge (ilm). True medicine is a method of treatment with knowledge (ilm). Islam is but mandatory knowledge (amr ilm), it commands knowledge (ilm) and science because Islam is nothing but knowledge (ilm) and science. If you completely eliminate the scholars (âlims) of Islam and leave the field to the ignorant, and make the ignorant speak in the name of religion (din), then the shambles of the Hour (Qiyamah) on earth has begun. At that time the shambles, lack of order, and contradiction in terms will begin. Otherwise, Islam is the embodiment of a light (nūr) brighter than the sun, and the reality (haqq). It is Almighty Allah who said, “Trust every work with those who are competent at it,” in Al-Quran Al-Karim. That is why the treatment is a truth and reality (haqq wa haqiqa) in Islam, hence the essential preventative medicine begins with protection of Allah. Others are on that field. That field is within the bounds of Islam as long as it is based on true, honest, and valid knowledge and science (ilm). Every truth is in Islam. Every wrong is out of Islam. The mufassirs like Ibn-i Abbas said the following in regards to the matter of adornment (ziynat). Now, as covering up is better for body health and that the commands of Almighty Allah are filled to the brim with wisdom (hikmat), adornment (ziynat) is wearable things. So says that? Well, Ibn-i Abbas one of the companions (sahabah) who know the exegesis (tafsir) of Al-Quran Al-Karim well, and majority of our mufassirs have said that. It is said that adornment (ziynat) is wearable things. This includes all kinds; all kinds of clothing is included. For men, it is except gold and silk, the real things is for the believers (mu’minun) in the afterlife (ākhira). For the deniers (munkirun) there is deprivation. See, Abbas is one of the people who knew Al-Quran Al-Karim best in the Era of Bliss of Prophet Muhammad, radeyallahu anhum, and our other mufassirs have also said that adornment (ziynat) is wearable thins, and every kind of clothing is included.

These verses mentioned fuhsiya (immorality), it is things that are against morals. For example, one of the hidden immoral acts (fuhsiya) is those who look like they are married without a permissible (jaiz) matrimony (nikah). Also, those who are man and wife after talaq-ul-bain (irrevocable divorce) without renewing the matrimony (nikah). These are considered among hidden fuhsiya (immorality).

That is, all sins and everything that does not suit the sharia (law) are of the types of fuhsiya (immorality). So, be it open or secret, all immoralities (fuhsiya) are against the morals (akhlaq), and there are types of these, and such examples were given by our pathfinders as a representation.

Such examples were given by our pathfinders as a representation. Our true mufassirs have given these examples. Te’kid without right; it is not rebellion with right. When it is without right it is te’kid; and it won’t be rebellion if it is with right. Now, is there a rightful basis of polytheism (shirk), disbelief (kufr), and hypocrisy (nifaq)? No, there isn’t. Now, please pay attention because there is no rightful basis of polytheism (shirk), disbelief (kufr), and hypocrisy (nifaq), and that is out of the question.

Time Stamp: 10:25

The perpetrator of harams; please pay attention! Whoever the perpetrator of harams is he has an appointed time (ajal); this goes for individuals as well as the states, their appointed time (ajal) will come, and punishment and calamity is linked to ajal. The calamities wait for their appointed time (ajal) upon those people or nations. Everyone’s appointed time (ajal) is different; and calamities are also different, and they come in different ways. That is why, instead of total annihilation all the time, everybody will get the calamities they deserved according to their own appointed times (ajal). That time cannot be deferred by a single hour, not can they get ahead. Every sin has an appointed time (ajal) for a person. There is an appointed time (ajal). That is, no matter who the perpetrator of the sin or haram is. Is there a haram? Then, there is an appointed time (ajal) of it.

The disaster of it awaits its appointed time (ajal) over the person. It is said that the hour that disaster comes cannot be taken back or forth. Janâb-i Haqq wants us to repent (tawbah) and ask for forgiveness (istighfar) before those troubles befall us, and be cleansed of haram and sins. We should purify ourselves inside and outside with the light (nūr) of faith (iman), purify ourselves with good deeds (salih amal) and good morals (salih akhlaq), and shine.

Otherwise, it will be a pity because there is no salvation from the appointed time (ajal), and there is an appointed time (ajal) of every calamity. There is an appointed time (ajal) of every haram. Once the hour of ajal comes it means that those calamities have befallen a person. May Allah preserve us, and make us among the servants (qul) who sincerely repent (tawbah) and ask for forgiveness (istighfar), and who are forgiven. However, we need a good faith (iman) and a good repentance (tawbah).

The following has been said: “When that hour arrives, they cannot tarry behind a moment, nor can they get ahead.” Nobody can be saved from it, except those who believe (iman), repent (tawbah), and adhere to good deeds (amal-e-saleh). These are saved by forgiveness, mercy, and pardon of Allah. Ibn-i Abbas and the majority of mufassirs say the appointed time (ajal) here is that of punishment and destruction. They said it does not absolutely mean life span. That is, the appointed time (ajal) of the calamities that shall come as the requital of harams. They say this appointed time (ajal) is that of the punishment. Every punishment and destruction has an our as requital of harams and sins. See, when the hour (ajal) of punishment and destruction comes, it is said that you cannot take it back and forth. What shall happen happens; and the disasters that shall befall begin to come. It is said that the reason of that is harams and sins. A respite is given to the rebellious and non-Muslims. So, nobody should be deceived by their prosperity, enjoyment, and civilization.

Pay attention! There is a respite for the rebellious, and no matter who they are, nobody should be deceived by the prosperity, enjoyment, and civilizations of the rebellious. Nobody should take them as an example. Their appointed time (ajal), calamities and destruction awaits atop them. That is a law, but which law? See the 34th verse, “وَلِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلٌ” – that is the law and verse of Allah, “وَلِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلٌ”. There is an appointed time (ajal) for every people, every individual, every group, every nation and state, no matter who they are. There is an hour (ajal) of the destruction and punishment, and it cannot be taken back or taken forward either.

Time Stamp: 15:18

There is this, and there is the hour (ajal) of death; the matter of death. As for the hour of death, the moment death comes to you is your appointed time (ajal). When it comes, nobody can take it back or forward. You will certainly die when that hour comes, there is no doubt about it. No matter the cause, it is certainly the appointed time (ajal) when death occurs. You may apply to every measure before it occurs.

However, no matter what measure you take, death will happen if you appointed time (ajal) has come. Some people do not take measures or go to treatment and they die. Okay, but are those who are treated impervious to death? Get treated, and take your measures, but also prepare for your appointed time (ajal). You will certainly die when your appointed time (ajal) comes, that is certain. Al-Quran Al-Karim is telling this to you clearly and openly.

Give ear to Allah, to the Quran, and to Muhammad. Do not give ear to tricksters. Do not give ear to the rebellious and the deniers. Do not give ear to those who deny the truth (haqq) and law (huquq)! It is a shame for your ears and your life span, and the minutes and seconds you waste listening to them. Give ear to the Real (al-Haqq), and submit your heart to the law (huquq), and pay close attention to the supremacy of law (huquq)! The Real (al-Haqq) is Allah Ta’ala, and the law (huquq) is the commands of Allah, and justice of Allah. Janâb-i Haqq says, “وَمَنْ كَفَرَ فَاُمَتِّعُهُ قَل۪يلاً” but what does this mean? Allah says, “As for the faithless, I will provide for him for a short time.”

See the 126th verse of Surah al-Baqarah [2]. We have mentioned these in our previous lectures. What does it say? It says, “وَمَنْ كَفَرَ فَاُمَتِّعُهُ قَل۪يلاً” – “I will provide for the denier for a short time.” Only the disgrace of their disbelief (kufr) is left. Pay attention, that is for a short time. Maybe he will run his own show for a short time, and benefit from the world. Maybe he will procure the best chair as well, and acquire the wealth of a lord as well, but “قَل۪يلاً” for a short time, that is a respite until the hour (ajal) comes for the harams and he will get what he deserved. They will send him to a place he deserved by taking his life when his hour of death (ajal) comes. Why are you deceived by their polish and garnish?

Why don’t you adhere to the Real (al-Haqq) instead? You will find true benefit once you adhere to the Real (al-Haqq). The true earning is therein, along with profits that are never lost, a wealth that is never lost, and there are endless and boundless bounties (nimat) along with a non-fading comfort to your eyes. Why don’t you follow the command of the Real (al-Haqq) and seek these things in denial and haram? Your leader may have deviated. A leader may have deviated along with those who are at the forefront, and if those who follow them also deviate, then it means that they have acknowledged that deviancy and supported one another. Their punishments are all manifold. They will be sentenced to manifold punishment in jahannam (hell). Why do you deviate just because somebody else deviated, regardless of who it is? This has been mentioned in the verses. They are all in decline, and their prayers (duas) are rejected. The prayers (duas) of the deniers are rejected. The prayers (duas) of the accursed, deniers, polytheists, and the unjust are always rejected. Prayers (duas) go up via faith (iman) and good deeds (amal-e-saleh), and there should be good deeds (amal-e-saleh) in the substructure of prayer (dua), it should consist of right (haqq) words, and those right (haqq) words shall raise up with good deeds (amal-e-saleh). Open the Quran and see! That is why these verses made mention of a “l-jamal” – “a camel”. Now, what does the verse say? Camel, tether, rope; that is a byword. That like when a fish climbs to a poplar tree; this denotes something impossible. That is, the eye of the needle represent smallness, and the came represent bigness. The fact that it will not be possible for disbelievers (kāfirs) to enter jannah (paradise) is narrated with a parable here. See, the verse says, “The disbelievers (kāfirs) won’t enter janna (paradise) until a camel passes the eye of a needle.” So, what is being said? It is said that janna (paradise) is prohibited to disbelievers (kāfirs) for eternity, that is what is being narrated here.

O Muslim! Work! Yet know that success and guidance (hidayat) is from Allah. Do not stop, work, and work well. Work for Allah, and earn for Allah, and spend for Allah. However, success, guidance (hidayat), and faith (iman) are all from Allah. Don’t you ever forget saying, “وَمَا تَوْفِيقِي إِلاَّ بِاللّهِ”! Do not forget saying “lā ḥawla wa-lā quwwata ʾillā bi-llāh”! Do not forget saying, “وَمَا تَوْفِيقِي إِلاَّ بِاللّهِ”! Do not be deceived or think disconnected from the Rabb for even a moment! Know that you are at the command of your Rabb, know that it is your Rabb who sustains your life. Don’t you ever forget that your Rabb is the One who commands and creates! Seek shelter in the divine guidance (hidayat). Everything is with help of Allah. If there is a help, then it is of Allah. All aids belong to Allah, they are all from Allah. That said, it is Allah who creates the causes as well.

A hadith-i sharif says, “Every believer (mu’min) has a place in janna (paradise), and every denier (munkir) has a place in jahannam (hell). Be wary! Allah has prepared an abode in janna (paradise) and jahannam (hell) for everyone. Such a shame that those who go to jahannam have lost their abodes in janna. As for those who go to janna, what did they do with their abodes in jahannam? They were saved from there. One has won while the other has lost. One has lost janna, and the other has been saved from jahannam. This hadith-i sharif is a quote that has been narrated with respect to Prophet Muhammad. Their abodes in janna are shown to companions of jahannam, and it will be said, “These were yours had you obeyed.” That said, companions of janna become their inheritors. The abodes of those who go to jahannam are given to companions of janna, and they are made inheritors. Fakhr al-Din al-Razi says distance does not hinder sound. That is, the âlims say sound is powerful and distance does not hinder it. They say sound is not hindered by distance. See, Al-Quran Al-Karim brought forth this reality of sound centuries ago. See the discovery of radio, television, and similar devices and compare them to this reality that the Quran brought forth centuries ago. See the truth of the Quran and the discoveries. That is why whatever the world has learned, it has learned them from Prophet Muhammad and Al-Quran Al-Karim. It is not possible to deny this, and those who disbelieve will be brought to the presence of Allah with their denial. Some people are practicing westernism or easternism. There is no need to practice westernism, easternism, nortism, or southism. Al-Quran Al-Karim is here! Why weren’t these discoveries made before the coming of Al-Quran Al-Karim? Had people not fought with the Quran, and had they not attacked Islam, the Quran, Muhammad, faith (iman), and truth and reality (haqq wa haqiqa), then the world would have advanced much more. They built a barrier before knowledge (ilm) and wisdom (irfan), and hindered the advancement of humankind. They got united around idols, and attacked Islam.

It was a shame, really. They ruined themselves as well as others. Islam came with a mercy (rahmat) that embraced them, it came with mercy, and they fought the mercy (rahmat) that embraced them. Is it possible to wage war against Allah? The Quran is Allah’s Book. Islam is the law (huquq) of Allah. Is it possible to fight against it? Islam has no flaws, not even as much as the hair on a date-seed. The flaws are in humankind. Muslims may have minor or major flaws in their own way, but Islam has no flaws. The world needs to know that.

Then again, Ibn-i Kathīr says the following: “Deeds and attributes are turned into matter on the Hour (Qiyamah).” Ibn-i Abbas also says, “The deed books will be weighed as well as the owner of the deed.” He says there are many overweight people who don’t have as much value as a fly, and he even says they don’t have a value as much as the weight of a fly’s wing. Who says that? That is a hadith-i sharif that comes from Ibn-i Abbas, and this news has been recorded by Ibn-i Kathīr as well. Because value is not in being overweight or lean, then where is it? It is in faith (iman), good deeds (amal-e-saleh), piety (taqwa), and sawāb. That is why everyone should pay attention and increase their sawāb, and try to raise their hearts and souls up to Allah. Islam is the prescription of a balanced diet. Islam is the true life-style. Islam itself is the life-giving light (nūr), it is Al-Quran Al-Karim. The leader and guide of it is Prophet Muhammad (asw).

These verses also mentioned A’raf (the Heights), we have given you some information about that but we will try to expound on it a little more. The word a’raf (heights) is the plural of the word arf (height). It means heights, and a horse’s mane and comb of a rooster are called arf. As for A’raf (the Heights), it is the heights of the wall or veil between janna (paradise) and jahannam (hell). According to a narration from Ibn-i Abbas it is said that it is the minaret balcony of as-sirāt. It is the high minaret balcony of           as-sirat al-mustaqeem. As for Hasan al-Basri, he says the gimmick is in the word, “to know.”

“As for those in the verse who recognize companions of janna and companions of the Fire, they are those whose goods and bads are equal.” He said, “Maybe some of them are among us.” That is, Hasan al-Basri, rahmatullahi alayh, said that. Abu Hudhayfah says, “Those whose sins and sawābs are equal on the scale (mizan) have the monotheistic faith (tawhid). They stay on the A’raf (the Heights) for a time, and their judgment will be made. They greet and recite salaam upon those who enter janna (paradise); that is, those who are on A’raf (the Heights).” He says those who are on A’raf (the Heights) are heralding the Prophets, the trustworthy (siddiq), martyrs, and the pious (saleh). They are the companions of janna (paradise) that people of A’raf (the Heights) heralded. See what the people of A’raf (the Heights) say about Abu Jahl and those who are like him? People like Abu Jahl will be sent down to jahannam (hell) before the eyes of those who are on A’raf (the Heights).

Says the following Abu Jahl and those who are like him. There are contemporary Abu Jahl’s in the past ages and today’s age, and people of A’raf (the Heights) say to them, “Your disbelief (kufr) and arrogance did not bring any benefit to you. O false deities (taghuts), those who don’t accept truth (haqq) and law (huquq)! Those who do not accept Allah, nor the commands of Allah, and attack the truth and reality (haqq wa haqiqa), the enemies of the truth (haqq), the enemies of law (huquq) and reality (haqiqa)! You know, your disbelief (kufr) and arrogance did not bring you any benefit.” That is, the people of A’raf (the Heights) will say it.

Then again, Hasan al-Basri says Iblīs does whatever he can to deceive the humanity, and he has never been one of the angels, not for a second. As for humankind, they have been equipped with traits that can convey them to a higher degree even than angels. Islam raises humankind to a degree above the angels. See, humans were created from clay, but this clay has qualities such as growth, advancement, and being a place of improvement (islah). As for the fire, it is a place of torment. Iblīs and the shaitans (devils) were created from fire. Ibn-i Sirin says Iblīs is the first to use qiyas (analogical comparison). Those who neglect the command of Allah while using qiyas (analogical comparison) are those who fall into the situation of Iblīs. Abu Hayyan said, “Regardless of who he is, if someone performs qiyas according to his own view, then he is one with Iblīs.” He says he is just like Iblīs because qiyas if used for recognizing the command of Allah, and deduce the unknown commands from the known commands. That is a duty of mujtahids and faqihs, and not everybody can do it. Iblīs did that wrong, and was driven out from the mercy (rahmat) of Allah. Al-Zamakhsharī says, “Who is the one who wears the dress of abasement and degradation? The first one to wear the dress of abasement and degradation is Iblīs.” Allah thew him down to the lowest of the low. It is said that this is the requital of arrogance of disbelief (kufr). Iblīs got arrogant against the command of Allah, he did not acknowledge the command, nor did he accept the successorship (caliphate) of Adam. Iblīs got arrogant, and claimed himself superior to Adam, superior to humankind, and he declared hostility, and this hostility still continues. That is why those who bow to the Real (al-Haqq) are exalted. Besides, you can’t rise against the Real (al-Haqq) since the Real (al-Haqq) has created us. You are to bow down to the Real (al-Haqq) so that you may be exalted.

One day, Abu Bakr and Hz. Umar, radeyallahu anhumma wa ardahum ajmain, had visited Hz. Muhammad. Salat and salaam be upon the Beloved of Allah. Our Prophet is the possessor of maqam-i mahmud (the praised station). See, maqam-i mahmud (the praised station) which is in the centre of the Throne (Arsh) and above the jannah (paradises) is the station of Prophet Muhammad. The owner of that station used to sleep on a rush mat and earth in the world. Abu Bakr and Umar saw the marks of the rush mat on our Prophet’s face, and they both started sobbing.

Our beloved Prophet, Hz. Muhammad, alayhissalatu wassalam, said, “Why are you crying?”

They said, “O Messenger of Allah! You have been given the ultimate degree above all, but you sleep on a rush mat, and we can see the mark of that rush mat on your face. While the kings of Rome, kings of Kisra, and the kings of the super states of the time, they reside in gold bronze painted palaces. As for you, even though you own the ninth heaven (arsh-i ala) and the praised station (maqam-i mahmud), you are sleeping on a rush mat.

Upon that, our beloved Prophet said, “I have chosen the way of being a servant (qul) of Allah who serves Allah. Theirs is temporary, and it is Fire. Nothing that doesn’t suit the pleasure (riza) of Allah brings any benefit.

No matter where you live such as mansions, castles, or impenetrable fortresses or palaces; you must bow your head to Allah by living with faith (iman) and good deeds (amal-e-saleh), and submit to Allah completely; and if you do not stand close to the command of Allah, then woe to you! That is, no matter which palace you reside in! That is temporary, and for a short period of time, and it will end. However, faith (iman), servitude (qulship), and humbleness (tawazu) will raise you up and up. So, what did Iblīs do? He said, “Give me a respite until the second trumpet is blown. Janâb-i Haqq gave him a respite until the first trumpet is blown. There are serious and grand mufassirs of ours in the sources of this news, such as Al-Qurtubi. Taʾwīl (interpret) is to reduce things to a conclusion. Yet they await its confirmation but it is much too late.

That is why a correct faith (iman) and correct deeds (amal) along with a complete devotion to Islam and the Quran, and submission to the sharia (law) of Muhammad is required ahead of time in order to come to the right conclusion. Taʾwīl (interpretation) is to reduce things to a conclusion. One should do his utmost before it is over to acquire a complete and good conclusion and to wait for its confirmation. It is Almighty Allah who keeps everything under disposition (tasarruf) and decree (hukm). All the worlds are under the disposition (tasarruf) and decree (hukm). It is Allah Ta’ala who keeps all the worlds under disposition (tasarruf) and decree (hukm).

Allah possesses all of it with an orderly and uniform rhythm, meaning harmony. That is, it all changes from moment to moment, from state to state, from shape to shape, from period to period. Thus, having a complete sovereignty and complete ownership, and being a complete ruler over all of it, and absolute exaltedness, the Almighty One who is the Most Exalted, is Almighty Allah who is always superior to the ninth heaven (arsh-i ala), who is the ruler all creatures. And says the following in the 16th verse of Surah al-Qaf [50].

Hodja recites the 16th verse of Surah al-Qaf [50].

Allah says, “We are nearer to him than his jugular vein,” but to whom? The entirety of all the worlds from the smallest atom to the biggest star is addressed here inside and outside.
